Guys n Gals Im friggin ropeable. In and around auckland theres sod all places to ride off road let alone safe places for the littlies to ride.
By chance just down the road from us was the perfect kids riding place. it was tecnical enough for the kids and parents could watch over them.
The track was a pretty sweet setup with parking for trailers etc.
On a good sunday you'd see 10 or 15 lil kids with mum n dad having fun
All that has now gone thanks to the efforts of a bunch of 'adult' morons.
These idiots decided that its cool to ride up and down the driveway of the factory that owns the land on mud covered bikes, coating it in (go figure) mud.
Come monday morning and the forkhoists would tramp that mud into the factory.
End result No more riding area.
So if any of you guys know those fuckwits tell em thanks a million losers.

It's been happening for 40 years - I'm one of the guys you can thank for the start of restricting bikes riding off road.I can still see the marks of our old tracks on Auckland's volcanic cones.I'm still prone to riding where I shouldn't....

Hey Frosty, i suggest that your kids join the North Harbour mini mx club for more safer places to ride

That really sucks Frosty - was an awesome place there. Our kids loved the couple of times they rode there. I enjoyed the bit of riding i did around it too. Some people only think of themselves & don't give a toss.

There is a little grass area in glenfield that is ideal. Its just opposite the Shell station and if you go past the first row of bushes there is two reasonable large grass paddocks. Not anything tricky, just a hill on a incline.

you could take them to the sandpit.
very easy kids only tracks.

they're dirt cheap too, once you've gotten there, and visibility is nada

I absolutely loved going there as a kid :D
