Great weekend, run well {thanks to nigel} weather was two extreme's.

SATURDAY: which was a "have ago day" so there were heaps of learner road riders on fast bikes:laugh::laugh:, took the cbr125r in the slow group, the bike went great around manfeild, out braked some fella on a daytona 675 one to many times and made him look pretty dumb so he started to get pissed off, so i moved on to annoying skippy on her rg150, we had a good battle i was on a bucket so her ss150 bike passed me pretty quick on the straight so i got her on the corners and then she got me out of the straights again and so on until her Suzuki packed a sad. I got a good idea of the track and it was a very very hot sticky track so alot of fun.

SUNDAY: Woke up to mt raupehu style winds and drizzle,

Qualifying: Me and Ken dobson on the hyosung gt250 battled out the hole time, it was good because i was getting him on the straights and in corners but he was getting me out of corners, alot of snaking going on. The track had dry lines which made racing easier. I ended up on the front row on 4th, out of the 250cc minilites and ss150,buckets.

RACE 1: Bloody wet race, i jumped the start {not used to lights!!!!}, very windy race, doing 160km/h on the front straignt and a wind blows me from the right! very scary. Didnt finsh race as i came in to early thinking the race was over, i wasnt watching the flags because it was so windy i was trying to stay on the bike this was the kind of mistake you only make once.......

RACE 2: I appartently jumped the start again {dam lights!} but i was going good, me and richard battled the whole time, i slip streamed him on the straights and passed him but he got me out of the corners {f*cken 4t's.......} it was very scary as i went to pass him at about 165km/h and my tires started to aquaplane, i got him but then he got me out of the next corner. So in the end i got a 3RD in ss150, and overall i got a 6TH. Pretty happy with it. But i am getting sick of the gutless litlle 150.......

Bring on next round!!!!

The lights are a funny thing.
Last round people said that the starts were being jumped because we were using a flag, but, when we use the lights we can spot a jumper much easier so you are more likely to be pinged.
You will have to learn quick because the lights are here to stay.

the only reason i jumped the start the second time is because i didnt see that i was jump starting on the sheet. I wont be doing it again.

Good to see you taking it to the track woody.

Umm, to get used to the lights watch a few Formula One car races... Don't worry, you don't have to watch the whole thing, just the start.
The lights they use are the same.... Okay, the system is.

As for coming in too early... Well to be fair, it looks like the 150's are on cool-down lap all race

;) JOKES!

If you are sick of the gutless 150..... you aren't actually ready to move up yet.
The idea of a 150 is HIGH corner speed.
Now, at Taupo concentrate on linking all the corners together.... When you master it, or even half way do, you will love that track on the 150.

Thanks, i guess i need to work on corner speed, im used to flag starts....as i ive done buckets for about 11 months...not finding the 150 two smokers as enjoyable as a big four stroke.......but after mastering the 150's ill be ready to ride a 650 hard. Taupo is deffintly a better track than manfeild but manfeild is still fun. Im doing the NATS at manfeild and the last 2 rounds of the PMCC summer series,i might even do the AMCC series last round in F3 so i can get a feeling of what its like. No ss150 class up this way and since my parents work too much through out the winter i wont be doing the winter series.......Probualy save up and get a 650 for next summer. -Max
