A reminder: Racing at Puke is on Sky Sports 1 1230-1600 tomorrow (Sunday). Just seen the roundup of todays events - some top racing by the Sharpe bros in Historics and an impressive bin over the hill.
Support NZ racing - we see it on TV once every quarter century, so make the most of it.
Be nice if it promotes motorcycle racing and we can get bigger crowds and entries for the club series out of it.

Shootouts like Bathhurst/V8 supercars is a great format for TV.

My only worry is theres not a huge entry and 3 hrs with no real battles or drama may make for boring TV to the non enthusist.

V8's where going round there in around 56 sec and no one broke 1 min on the bikes.

Umm which program were you watching?? Stroud, rees and fulton all did 58's, pretty sure thats under a min.

Pretty massive crash, hope that guys alright. Should be good tomorrow. Looks like there are about 20 to 25 entries so that should be enough to have a few good battles. Want to watch the 125's race again.

Yeah it was only the 600s that didn't quite break the 1min barrier.

2.82km @ 1min = 169.2 kph average speed. This endurance race should be over in under 2 hours.

I am pretty sure that the race lenght is 2 hours 15 mins and then after that the white flag comes out and first across the line after that wins.

Whats the weather up there like jaffas?? Looks from the metservice website that it could be a bit damp.

I liked the Distributers 300 Endurance race. First time I've seen a start like that! (Stand on side of track opposite your bike, run to bike and go...)

Those that were at the last KB track day, or who have been on a track will know how tired you feel after 20 minutes. These guys were doing a 2 hour something race, with only 2 riders per team. A couple of guys did it on their own! Instead of a back protector, those solo guys had water packs. I heard them talking about a 6 hour race that used to take place a few years ago.

One large aspect of the race, was the over taking of back markers. Within 3 or 4 laps, Stroud, Rees and Fulton were overtaking the tail enders. Seemed to play a large part in the positions, as to who executed a good passing manouvre.

Interesting seeing the refuelling and rear wheel change during pit stops, not something seen on MotoGP or SBK.

.

A Le Mans start has always been used to start any endurance race that I've seen,we've even used it for the buckets before in our one hour races

I would think they would still have had to use a back protector as normally if you're not wearing one you wont be allowed to start the race

The six hour race was a production based race run at Manfield up to the late eighties

Sky had "highlights" of the race from 8.30 to 10.00, as I missed the live coverage, well actually I'd set up the video to tape while I was out playing golf, but wifey decided to watch some movies so I've got 3 hours of movies on tape instead, and I caught the last 25 minutes or so live. Anyway Skys highlight coverage, thought this would be good, but I guess Sky thinks to provide 60 minutes of highlights of a race that runs 2hr 15min, whay did they show? Yip 30 minutes from the start and 30 minutes from the end!! Showed no pit stops, no tyre changes, no crashes, no Ray Clee on Strouds bike, just bizarre. So be interesting if they had 30 minutes highlights of say All Blacks vs Lions, they'd just show 15 minutes at the start and 15 minutes at the end? tossers.....
