BRM Summer series Round 2
Street Stock 150 #94

Saturday 30
PMCC put on a practise day or “Have ago day,” the day went great and ran really smooth, it was and extremely hot day so I kept rising my tire pressures to stop them melting and sliding around the track. We got heaps of riding time with a choose of 4 class, I chose medium which worked out quite well for me on the Street Stock 150.

Sunday 31
We were on our way back to the track at 6:45 form Apiti, the weather only seemed to be becoming worse. The day was turning to be the complete opposite to Saturday, it was wet, cold ish and windy.

Qualify. We were lucky because it had stopped raining for a while and the other bikes had dried out most of the track. I don’t think anyone was going to be able to perform at their best today with no heat in the track and the wind blowing us around. I qualified 2nd in Street Stock, 0.181 seconds behind Ryan in 1st.
Race One. PMCC had decide to use the starting light this time, which I quite like, I had a relatively good start not quite shotting to the front but by the first corner I was in 2nd with Ryan in front. Daniel Plaisted on his 250 made his way past me on the first lap and Ryan on the second. Ryan wasn’t making things easy for me, especially because it had rained before our race so the track was slippery, I had the back of my bike slipping out of most corners holding behind him. I made it past him in lap three and held him off for another three laps until he pasted me around the outside of Toyota. I finish in 2nd relatively happy.
Race Two. The race had been shortened to 6 laps, I was second over the start line but first to the corner and until Ryan pasted me. Then Daniel Plaisted got me to but I hung onto him until he finally pasted Ryan giving me space to fight with him. I was right beside Ryan on the outside of the middle straight, I gave in to him and let him take the corner first as I wasn’t game enough to push around the outside on the wet lines. I fort with him right up until the last corner (Dunlop) and pushed through to pass him just before the finish line taking first place.

Thank Nigel and Pacific motorcycle club, you did a great job!! :niceone:

Thanks Tyler Firn
