An improvement on previous years because they had chopped out the 10 km afternoon loop, that usually created delays in being able to get back to the pits. As usual, the ride was well set out and marshalled and nice lunch. Very slippery on the first loop cos of the extra long grass - great feed for the livestock and soft landing if you bin! This ride though is one of the tamer HMCC rides with quite a lot of slow farm trails and big drop offs if you get it wrong. Not challenging but a good day out regardless. A few too many kids on the main track, who tended to weave all over the place, but not a big deal as very little congestion overall.

yeah, what jimmy said.

was almost going to go home at lunchtime coz i knew if i went out again i'd be dropping it in the grass. but it had dried and there was some grip so i really enjoyed the second loop. went out at the right time so hardly any traffic. the first A loop was great. a nice easy one to start the year.

anyone know know if the girl who took a footpeg to the face (i was told) by the water crossing is ok? saw lots of blood as i went past.

awesome pics mate, like the way you covered the day from start to finish.
whats the bike in leading shots at the start, looks nice, so does that husqvarna
That the sort of trail ride that would suit my skill level.
can,t figure why everyone stops at a water crossing.

i think the one you're talking about is a scorpa, last time i heard they had a yammy wr250 motor in them, sort of a cross between a trail and a trials bike.

Nice pics Pete - Pic 7 is Merv's Scorpa he's real keen dirtbiker with 3 bikes (2 KTM's as well) and hitting 68 years young and teaching his grandson the ropes - Thats my KLX in the background which hit the deck once (slippery grass) but 2nd loop in the morning was perfect and hardly anyone out on the trail. Really enjoyed the track this year specially the last long downhill. I didn't miss the 10km afternoon loop either.

Cool pics! Looks like the weather was much better at Laws Hill than in Woodville!
Definately keen for Waituna West this weekend - should be good fun

Hey Pete

I was talking to her back at the carpark - a few stitches and she will be fine.

Great photos as usual!

I remember doing this trail ride about 15 years ago on a trusty xr100!! Have wanted to go back to see what its like now, looked a bit easy which is great for the kids to get into the rides, but how were the a-loops? Certainly alot of green grass around to make slippery.
