Hi all,
Thought I'd start a new thread for posting of pics of the day, the original thread was getting kinda loooong......
It was a great day with good organisation and proper execution of tasks!! FEINT did a fab job in laying down the 'law' and reminding us that the focus of the ride was for newbies, so I hope you noobs had a good time and managed to glean something from the senior guys.
OK, the pics, I have to apologise for not remembering...or even getting round to meeting all the KBers so I don't know all the guys in my pics  ....... pse don't be offended I promise to make a better effort next time round!!
For the time being pse feel free to add captions or even just your 'callsign' to the pics below:
This is the regroup at KKP

Excellent pix, Dude!
My day was such a waste of time (apart from washing the VFR and fixing some fairing clips after yesterday's oil change), I might as well have come.
Darn i really should have come :(
Second photo from the bottom is Sutage on the left (aka Richard) and of course limmy on the right (hi!).
Good to hear it went well... I really needed sleep lol (and scared of my demerit situation too :msn-wink: )

Yeah, he'd be the one on the dirty old XT600.
Did he show you his one handed stand up wheelies? Or did he not want to set a bad example in front of the new riders?
Darn i really should have come :(
Good to hear it went well... I really needed sleep lol (and scared of my demerit situation too :msn-wink: )
Not surprised that you needed the sleep since you where up till 2am posting random shit pics on here
Ahh because I knew I was going to sleep in and had decided that before mabey ;)
They were not random pics.. they were linked pics (Eg not whoring kb bandwidth) and they were telling a story using pictures (I forget the name now :/) supposedly like the egyptians

Ask and ye shall recieve....(Sorry bout the delay as I went to day one of the VK at Puke, then on to the "Outlaws" for the rest of the weekend)
'Twas a bit of a shock seeing ya fall off the road in front of me, but thats whats learnings about isn't it? (you learning to fall off, and me learning to avoid people falling off)
Photos are titled "Crash pose", "On the road again..." and "The boys looked and looked but couldn't find Ricksta's virginity anywhere"
Here are a few more.....(I threw one "Spot the posing VTR250 at the races" in there)

Nice pics again. Really wish I could have gone along on this one.
Here are a few more.....(I threw one "Spot the posing VTR250 at the races" in there)Thks for those shots...rep point earners! I see you have one there of the infamous Mr swanman mounting Feints lil' CB400 - lol, that bike has the greatest capacity underseat storage area I have seen! Forget the tool set man, there's room under there for cameras, water bottles, hey even a lunchbox! Well swanman managed to con Mr F into taking it down the road for a quick 2min ride at Kaukop, without wheelying it I might add...or did he try one while he was outta sight? Suffice to say the bike was returned in one piece! :D
Hmm is it just me or was Slashwylde the only one on a cruiser in that pack... Also on a Virago...Yep I think he was the only one. When a group of us (5) were heading up to Wellsford, Slashwylde asked me what the pace would be and I told him medium-fast. He decided against joining us...could have been a different day for him if he chose to come with us you reckon Mr W? :Punk:

Depends on if you took SH16 (correct one?) I took that one on my up to John's north ride when we met in Wellsford and man it was fun and unless you guys were being nuts on the hills and corners he should have been able to keep up. Glad his ride with crotchrockets didn't end up like mine though.

Mr Swanman orignally offered Baby R to swap the CB400 for his R1, Baby R was defintely shocked as she couldn't ride the R1.. so we told Swanman he could ride it up at kaukapakapa.
if swanman managed to get it up, I want to know how! :) hahaha.. Madguitarist and myself just changed the fork oil to a thicker oil and it handles much better now.
They don't make underseat storage like that anymore now do they? All those underseat pipes take away the storage! I should get a photo of the storage to show you all :)

Tell ya what though - thyey've got some high speed midges between Kaukop and Wellsford...
Cheers for the fun ride guys -I loved it although have to admit the more sedate pace on the way home was more to my liking (that WAS more sedate wasn't it... or did I get the hang of it a little more?!?)
Great to meet so many ppls too, beautiful day for it... let's do it again sometime.
Also, look out for a newbie to this site riding a Ducati (I missed the model). It was the guy filling the duc with the gun bag over his shoulder. I told him to look us up and his wife has just bought a GSX250 so it could be good to get them along.
I had a chat - hell of a nice guy

Yep I enjoyed the ride back. It made a real difference when I had a quick play with the rear preload and let some pressure out of the tyres. I especially enjoyed attacking the corners to get my knee down, to scuff up Mad Guitarist's new, shiny sliders.(Anyone got some sparky ones I can borrow)?
I need to do this again soon. Is there a ride this coming weekend? After this weekend I am going to the UK for a coupla weeks.
there is a SH22 ride organised by Motoracer.

It doesn't say anywhere that you have to maintain 200kmph.

It just seems a bit too long for me this weekend and Id rather ride at a more easy and comfortable pace.... I like the sound of Kawakawa Bay or may by some West Auckland beaches :-)

Waylander mate ya gotta get that Virago of yours fixed so we can go cruising - wanna ride with some laid-back cruiser riders for a change instead of those mad bastards on 636s etc :msn-wink:

Yea was just thinking the same thing earlier. Maybe once my ride runs again me and you should orginize a cruiser/newbie ride. I say newbie ride aswell cause they should be able to keep up with cruisers as long as we take a relaxed ride.

Weeeel, still getting a feel for how people rate rides, but on reflection I think the ride back to Westgate was probably too slow for me given the terrain and weather conditions. Thats OK I was there to meet some KB'ers and have a relaxing ride of a Saturday morning.
I generally like to cruise between 90 and 110kph relax enjoy the scenery rather than charge hard-out, trying not to fall too far behind the bigger sports bikes. I've done that before and basically ridden to the limits of the bike and my own capabilities. It is challenging, develops your ability and I enjoy it on occasion.
Might have to go with ya next time Zed... :niceone:

if it is a newguys ride i am in i do not mind looking after the
the back end (like last ride) just may want to take off and have a play round
at the fast end at some point (wonder why)
may I REMIND to those yet un-named that riding in jeans and sneakers to get some proper riding pants and boots. we don't want to see busted knees smeared on the road and broken ankles (takes a long time to heal). Mr FF would have taken you guys off the side of the road and give you loud word.. :msn-wink:
I can only guess what would have happened to Mr.Skin / JSG or Me if we had our bin without proper gear. :wait:
