Find yourself somewhere else to live.
Bunch of wankers! Good on you too for standing up next to a mate that is trying to eat his lunch of shit sandwiches.

Arsehole city fella..... Find a new flat or kick them out and find new flatmates, probably easier to move yourself, but I do wonder what would happen to your injured mates gear with those arseholes living there.

If they don't like hospitals -how about they buy him something for you to take in?
Sounds to me a case of "out of sight, out of mind". Poor bugger. I can't imagine what life would be like without a limb. I bet he appreciates your support.

McDuck, I am going to come from a different perspective. A few years ago now I was very very ill. I was flatting with a group of people who at the time kicked me out of the flat as I had my 'dark skin' friends coming over to visit me and they were extremely racist. Now these peole were arsewipes, I had passed out in the shower one morning and they left me there for 4 hours even though they had heard the thud and thought they knew what had happened. So I found a new flat and these people were just as uninterested in my ill health, except they did call an ambulance for me once. They never came to visit me in hospital and I even had to take a taxi home form there one day as they were all working...
I could go on and on and tell you what arseholes my various flatties were at the time but instead I will tell you what I learnt. I learnt who my real friends were and at the time I could count them on one hand. I learnt to look after myself and to value those people who were my real mates. At the end of the day your mates life is about to become totally different and he will have nastier things happen to him throughout his life. He will learn to value the important things and your arsewipe flatties are not going to matter to him 6 months down the track. He will make new mates with the help of mates like you and he will value you and those mates. Alot of people are inherintly selfish and truth be told they really dont give a flying fuck about something unless it affects them.
Just keep on being a mate and dont worry about those other people, they dont matter! Good luck and keep doing what your doing. Karma is a wonderful thing and you're going to get back tenfold!

I can tell you for a fact that any of my flatmates would come see me in hospital or at the very least text me or something if they couldn't make it, the same goes for me.
I didn't know any of them when I moved in and now we are all good mates.
The thing is that the 4 of them were friends already, I was the extra person that filled the gap and I pretty much get along with anyone.
I've found when flatting that the people you flat with is just as if not more important than how the place looks, location etc. I turned down several places before this one because the whole lot of them were a bunch of drop kicks. Problem is that all the best flats are full, people don't leave places they are happy with. It's why the places full of dickheads always have vacancies...

Sorry, did not mean to imply that that was your particular beef with hospitals, definitely a large range of reasons why someone wouldn't want to go there.

McDuck - your flatmates are assholes, lifes to short to live with people like that.
Living with some good bastards makes such a difference, trust me.
Couple of months ago one flatmate dropped everything to take me to a&e and another thought nothing of getting up to pick me up late in the night when i was discharged.
I think some people struggle with the reality of their own mortality when visiting these places, but in my case I always know the person I'm visiting feels a whole lot worse so it's not too hard to get over myself.
You've been a good mate to him. Green rep.

Get used to it ffs.
As you get older it is likely you will have reason to visit hospitals and see suffering much more frequently.

pretty idiotic comment that pixie.I've put more freinds in the ground and seen more freinds fuck themselves up (usually on bikes) than I care to remember.(more than 20 less than 100) To me hospital represents a place that people I care deeply about go to either die or their lives are seriously fucked up. The personal emotional pain associated with hospitals is real. And im sorry but No you don't EVER get used to it.
So yea they sxcare the shit outa me.
