After residing in New Zealand for 3 weeks, I did it smoothly and swiftly. Got my practical test done last saturday, and the theory monday. Got the girl on tuesday!
I can proudly say I share my rides with a Honda CB250. It's a beauty and rides like a charm. Although we are still getting to know one another and sometimes she'll let me know I am doing something wrong, but I think she understand that I still have to get the hang of it!
I started a thread in the tour section, as I am anxious about getting some experience and riding nice roads. But alone is so alone and I haven't got a clue where to go.. so if you head over there if you live around wellington as well, we might take a ride together!

yup, it was most unfortunate. The curve in the road wasn't even that sharp!
I experienced firsthand now, "where you look is where you go". I wasn't going that fast, thank god, or there might have been more broken than I wanted.
The bike has a couple of scratches, I have a couple of scratches, helmet scraped a bit of asphalt but didn't hit my head so I reckon it is still safe and sound.
Brought the bike to Wellington Motorcycles to straighten out and check it out.. just got the message she's ready to pick up with just 57NZ$ in costs, so that's a relief! :)
So Eyegasm, if you're up for it then I'm up for it too. They promised good weather for at least another week so if you wanna ride, give me a text!

Oh no! Lucky you weren't hurt much..
Did the helmet take a knock at all? Cos if it did,i would replace it,to be on the safe side.

Hi Neshi, Welcome to KB. Good to hear that your first bin wasn't too serious and you at least learnt something from it. It looks like you have already found the TWNCR thread so no doubt I will meet up with you sometime on there. I am normally one of the regulars on the Wed ride (although I've been a bit busy to attend the last 2-3 weeks). And you a right. It alway's pays to remember that 'WYLIWYG'
Ride safe and keep the shiny side up.

If you're interested in riding with a ratti old bike and his ratti old owner, I am trying to organise a workday pootle that might suit you. maybe be away a couple of hours on a wednesday or friday during work hours. SOme of the Ulyssians are keen to come along so you will be with experienced riders who can maybe offer a pointer if they see something. Its all very casual and low key. pm me if you might be interested.
