BLOODY HELL!!!!
I've been riding with no licence for a few years & usually my Bonnie has no rego, so any tickets I get are HUGE:shit:. My bike is my main transport so I ride almost everyday.
When I passed my full licence on Dec 23th, I rego'd my bike so I was all legal for a change:innocent:.
Kinda a cool feeling being able too hoon around and not worry about extras being tagged on to any speeding tickets
I went through a check point today. What a buzz not to have to worry about WOF, Rego or licince.
FUCK ME!!! The bloody :Police: bitch waved me through!!!!!!!!
I couldn't believe it, Finally legal & they didnt want to check.
FUCKERS!!!!

Yeah, today I learned ........
When my rego runs out its going on hold, & I will still ride every day as usual.

I may be but a simple old fart, but what's the attraction in getting huge fines for breaking the law?

yeah, weigh up the odds, how many tickets issued vs how many years riding without licence/rego etc. Which is cheaper.
I have been through 2 checkpoints on my bike in the last 6 months & have been waved through both times.
I have been through 1 in the car, spoke into the breath thingy and off I went (they didn't even check licence/rego/wof etc).
Other than that, have not been pulled up on the bike in over 20 years.
Jeez could I have saved some dosh!

I am a single working parent, just put myself through university & with a teenaged son to support, Its all about the money honey, not breaking the law.
(no benifit here, just hard work)
Rego just seems like a big fat waste of money to me!!

So, you went to uni and worked hard for your kid etc etc, that tells me that you're a smart women. How do you work out that $87 (3months rego) is more expensive than a ticket for at least $200 a pop?
Just out of interest of course, I may be missing something...

Cos the $87 is certain. The $200 may never happen. So it's not $200 > $87. It's( $200 * chance of being stopped) > or < $87.

Yeah HUGE tickets
Had my first speeding ticket on my Bonnie with in a week of owning it, was on my learners, the kid was pillion. So $400 + speeding fine + lecture from cop
Worst part of that was the kid giving me SHIT for weeks after " OOHH, mum got chased by the pigs!"
& since then, quite a few, no rego, restiricted licence & speeding.
I didnt bitch though, I knew the risks & the consequences.

This is what I struggle to understand in your reasoning. Despite your financial constraints, you have racked up a fair amount of needless costs which could have been better spent, yet you are saying that to spend what would have been far less, is a financial burden...?
Of course you may also realise that the cops know you and your bike by now, so the likelihood of getting more tickets is much greater than for others...

Don't think it really matters when the tickets are HUGE. But if you must argue then I guess you will either way....
Dont actually really care either TBH....

Well, I guess, if we are being speific it depends on the relationship between 'huge' and 'past'. I can say from personal experience that sometimes the value of 'huge' in relation to 'past' makes the tradeoff worthwhile.
More so for rego of course, since it is usually more expensive up front than a WoF.

Well she has a point , in all my 29 years of riding , I have never had insurance ( if it was part of a special here in Japan i think its included in the WOF but ,come to that,, the chances of ever getting all three on one vehicle at one time has been a bit of " luck" I'm not very good at that sort of thing
the long and short of it is , Ive had one or two fines , but I know i have saved bucket of money by not paying
WOF , fair enough, some people need others to keep the car/bike in a safe condition
Rego ? whats in it for me ? and why so much ?Acc???
insurance ....basic third party , i suppose is a good idea

Fuck rego, it's just a piece of paper. But see how much you save when your stack your bike and insurance refuses to pay out because you were too tight to pay $30 for 6 months of WoF to ensure that the bike is in roadworthy condition.
