OK who's floating ideas around about building a bike for a scrapheap ride? Reading Pezz's skunkworks (http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=497905) special thread on advrider is really inspiring.
Dunno if I'd go to all the effort he's doing but would be heaps of fun - or frustration.
Who's got what lying around?;)

I had a look & saw a few CX400s for sale on trade me. With a shaft drive is there much scope for raising the rear suspension?
I reckon they would look quite bizarre in a good way with a tall front end & knobblies

El Scooto and CooneyR were looking for a new idea. So how about the Dusty Butt Scrapheap Challenge!! Mind you, ES' entry this year was somewhat of a scrapheap refugee.... :innocent:

Your not wrong. It behaved like one too. I likes the idea of any cc but less than $1000 for next year. Problem is that to get a road reg bike for less than $1000 is hard.

I'm pretty sure there was a CX?00 at the CCA in 08. Was a bit of a laugh. Bet they make an OK scrambler style bike cause of the lower centre of gravity.

It's like a BMW airhead but with wonky cylinders, it's even got the bmw windshield. Still kinda cool.

Eurodave that is just what I was thinking of. It looks excellent!! Haven't read the whole thread yet but will tonite.
Is the rear end standard or have you replaced the shocks? If you have replaced them did you balance the heigths up?
