I have just received confirmation on my accomodation and transfers to the Isle of Man!! 4 days 3 nights of racing and bike porn!!! Really stoked that I am actually doing this..... The suspension on my bike is going to take the back burner for a while though unless someone has a cheap cartride kit for a 07/08 zx6r:pinch: I might as well treat myself to 1 day in the VIP section if I feel like I have been a good boy:woohoo:
Before the racing I will be in sweeden and try and get to the ohlins factory too... maybe I could buy a pen or a fridge magnet;)

Has anyone got any inside info of the best pozzies to view, and things to do?..
I have checked out the website and probably be looking for a good camera to take too. There is heaps to see and hope to make the most of my experience so any info would be great.
Hireing bikes for the day? hehehe

Few more details about my trip that are sorted.

Flying in from Dublin on the sat. morning. Then checking into the Hilton/casino on the parade which I beleive is very close to party central. ;) Check out the happenings and find a beer and a veiwing spot before the superbikes start racing. I hope to get round most of the track throughout my stay and maybe get a rental on an afternoon to pootle round on with the miss after the days racing. woohooo

I have been sorting a flight out in the evening on the tuesday night after the 600s but I wont hold my breath. I dont know how long it will take me to get from the race to the airport so is not to miss the flight or miss out on the action.

Hmmm, I wonder if I can get my shit together to ride over to IOM TT this year. I hope so. Mann, my bum's gonna be sore after the ride there and back. I just gotta look into my holidays and see if a week off is possible

Hello there, drop us a line when you get over and we'll hook up for a beer. The T.T. should be good entertainment wise this year. The prom is where all the fun is of a night time, if thats near where you're staying? Simulators, big screen T.V. 's, beer tent, candy floss making machine and carny folk with big hands that smell of cabbages. Great fun, you'll have the craic sure enough.

Maybe you should PM Shaun he's almost a native. Sam at Celtic Leathers is a native.

Me, I'd watch from some of the pubs around the course - of course.

Hey Steeley, if you arrive on Sat morn., your best bet will to walk up to the top (or bottom) of Bray Hill I reckon. You won't have much time to get anywhere else. They'll both be packed but for good reason. You'll probably be best talking to people when you're there, the resricted areas change each year. The best veiwing more often than not, is to get to a place before the roads close and take a hike to a spot where there aren't many people. There are literaly hundreds, so no point in suggesting any.

When I last checked no one on the Island was doing bike hire. Getting around will be the biggest problem. Check the buses, they go around the course before roads close each day, coming back when they open.

One thing I can say with absolute certainty is, you're gonna' have a ball!!!

Enjoy, MK

Managed to get there in '72 to see Ago race on the island for the last time, and again in '75 when Mick Grant set a new course record on the 2-stroke Kawasaki. Spent all of '72 in and around Douglas, but got to the top of the mountain in '75. Even got round the course on mad Sunday - on a Tiger 90, which I'd ridden up from Cardiff. Wherever you get to watch the racing, you're in for a hell of a treat.

Shit mate thats some history right there eh! awesome!
Great stuff for doing the mad Sunday run. It would have been a huge experience especially on a steed that you had tripped over with too.

Cheers! I cant wait ;)

And one last thing... Goooo the Kawasaki's!!!!

On my way now... sitting in the Koru lounge enjoying its limited top shelf and Lion Nathan grade beverages... thank you Air NZ!
I have a camera that I have yet to master to take some maybe good photos too... lots of time to work it out... in transition.
I have watched lots of video footage lately and have a plan but nothing ever goes to plan.....
I have a 50 percent hit rate for my flight to sweeden... stupid ash! I am still keen at looking at the ohlins gold!

Haha! Yea mate... You lucky fella!!!!
It was an experience I will never forget. I met some awesome people while over there. It just hurt having to leave after the supersport 2 race. I really didnt want to head home:bye:

I was very jelous of the people who came over with their bikes. MAD Sunday was indeed a crazy day! I have never seen so many bikes before. Insane amount of bike porn. It was tourture! Give me a bike! Give me one NOW!

I had a few too many "Ale of Man's" every afternoon into night into morning. Followed with the traditional big breakies.

Met a couple of guys who said they would take us out to a fast peice of track where they have been watching for years. It was an amazing spot... perfect place to sit and check out the bikes.

Watched from Bray Hill, Governers bridge, the Church at the top of Bray, Pits, man oh man

I will have to add to this later as work calls...

You've got to try Sulby straight, it may be straight line only but to see terminal velocity that close is something else......plus there's a pub halfway down it right on the road so you can have a pint at the same time.....mint!!

It was damp the year I was there so hearing the rear wheel spin up at 180mph+ was awe inspiring!! Oh and the promenade at night is great, we were wheelieing up and down the main street all night...gotta love showboating...lol

Glad to hear you had a good time.

That drinking every night's a bit addictive eh? Just seems to round off each day.

Can you remember the name of the fast spot those lads took you to?

I'm going to door knock the houses on the left at Ago's leap. See if we can't get into a garden for a race next year. I used to watch there when I was a kid (young kid as opposed to 'old' kid! He he). Back then you could just stand in the gateways, they didn't seem to mind too much.

8 1/2 months and counting!!
