I think that the carbon wheels look the best. IMHO.:woohoo:

A couple years back the BST's were 'reasonably' priced, I inquired and could have got a pair for around $3800. But the Carrozzerias are gorgeous, much better looking design.

The BST's are very cool and certainly win the bling award, but for road use I'd go with the Carrozzerias. I'd always have that nagging doubt about the carbon wheels on NZ roads...... just my 2c :)

Depends on your planned riding....Occasional track days or lots of twisties I would opt for the carbon

Some good reading here Mike: http://www.ducati-upnorth.com/tech/bst.php .

Certainly if you did opt for carbon, there's no doubting BST's reputation as one of, if not the best manufacturers.
Personally I agree with the writer of that article that there just aren't enough carbon wheels in general use, particularly on the road, to get a balanced view as to their longevity versus a magnesium or alloy wheel . And that possibility of a big pothole hit would just worry me.

I see there is much discussion on the interweb (http://www.google.com/search?q=carbon+wheel+fail&rls=com.microsoft:en-nz:IE-SearchBox&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=ie7&rlz=1I7ADBS) and still much debate within the cycling community where they have been used much longer.....

I love carbon fibre, but I just can't get that nagging doubt out of my mind.

If it was purely a track bike though, I'd take the punt..... :D

BST's for the win! If they'll last with Stroudy and co putting 'em through their paces and 220hp chattering and hopping through the rear wheel they'll handle anything the average punter can throw at 'em, shite roads included.

After much tossing n turning last night i settled on a set of these, went with the Titanium colour, the old Frogsnot grreen TLs a bit of a problem when buying aftermarket coloured stuff, originally thought black but the Titanium should look ok.

Not too much tossing I hope..... At least wait until the bling arrives!!

The Titanium looks uber cool - when do they turn up?
It'll be interesting to see how they look as that is a 'difficult' colour to match things to as you say, that said though I think you've made a good choice - the black might have looked a tad heavy. You'll have to score some trick discs now too.....

Good work! And good price too - I saw that guy at Manfield a while ago and thought his prices seemed a bit high, made me wonder if he was actually the authorised distributor or if he was just buying a few to get US dealer price and clipping the ticket.
Anyway, make sure you follow up with some pics when you've got her done..... :D

I'd have the BST's on my TRX. There is a guy who has Caro's on his TRX and I don't really like the look of them on the bike. I've seen a TRX with 5 spoke R6 rims and it looks really good so I assume it'd look even better with BST carbon rims!

Ha bloody ha.....whilst I was never a big fan of comstars, I think the reversed ones like on my 6 are the better looking of them. I also can't recall any major failures of comstars, and a quick Google doesn't find any major hits on the subject.
Besides, you'd be OK with carbon wheels or for that matter paper mache wheels considering the amount of time your bike gets ridden (I mean the 'proper' one too smart arse) :bleh:

Have I mentioned how gay your sigs are looking these days, how'd you get on inflating your blow up Senna Doll I do hope you were blowing into the right apeture? Have you mounted it yet? on the bike that is.

You haven't taken your meds have you? Hmm....or more likely you've had taken too many, judging by your incoherent ramblings...........
When are you going to take that lovechild of a piano maker and a failed Italian frame company out for a ride?

Definitely the BSTs, metal wheels are a dime a dozen and you can always pick up a set for reasonable money.

Forged Carrozzerias definitely. I prefer the look, and i'm not really into the carbon fiber look anyhow.
