Yesssss, i'm not alone, sorta. lol.

I'm needing questions more related to campus stuff, although I am doing one of my papers for my first year extramurally during summer school.

Where abouts do you get your textbook lists from online? I rang up and the lady I spoke with, told me I need to go into the print-lab, and was incredulous (and very rude and arrogant) about the fact I did'nt know this, until I said bluntly, "well how the fuck was I supposed to know that, no-one fucken told me!" Then her high horse lowered, I guess she's used to 17-18 year old students who put up with her, and told me I have to go into the 'printlab'. I know people studying at both Unitec AND AUT, and this info is all online, and they recieve letters a month proir also saying what books they need for their lectures......So surely I can get this info online you would think? Or surely they should have sent this same letter?

I swear to enrol in Massey you need a Degree in University enrollment, if their is such a thing! Both aforementioned people helped me with the enrolling and were quite lost themselves and they're both in their last years.......no communication at all, or useful info. I've re-typed my timetables as they don't print properly, and they don't even include the class start dates. I ca'nt believe how much I have to complain about before I even start!

Anyway, just to get my question across after that rant, can I find my textbook list online? Or was the dragonlady right?

Where online do you look for them? I don't know if I can or not, I tried asking but the lady told me that the only way was to go in, which I thought did'nt sound right, and obviously is'nt.

Yeah I've always had my textbook list sent to me with my study work, however G is right, if you phone Bennetts bookstore with your paper number they'll be able to tell you what the books are for that paper. Frustrating isn't it? And believe me, being an extramural student is even more so sometimes as you don't readily have other students and tutors to ask questions of.

Cheers for your help. Kinda feeling I shoulda gone with Unitec or AUT, I was accepted to all three and chose Massey for geographical reasons......hmmmmm. Once it's all under-way it'll all be fine, at least my newb 'flying start' registration seems to be all working out......(they've taken my moolah lets see if i'm actually on the list on the day!)

The Massey website is a mess. Best to rock up to Bennett's, tell them your paper number and let them lead you to the book. I found purchasing the book for my last paper a waste of time and money, the course notes and library resources contained all the additional material needed.

Yeah it's freakin hard balancing it with full-time work. Full-time study really is a full-time job.....

Have pretty much everything sorted now. I ca'nt believe there's people who have'nt started using stream etc yet. Some Asian guy yesterday was asking the tutor some crazy questions, like stuff i'd sorted out weeks ago!......made me feel a little better and less lost!

It really is pretty straight forward once you get the hang of it, although I suppose everything is like that.

I think there's still lockers available in QB2. If you join the gym ($132.00 for the year) you could use the lockers there, can't leave anything overnight though.

Yup that's mine! I have all my lectures at the main campus and all my labs at OR. I'm lazy so I ride between them.

Yeah, I do have a locker. After lugging all my gear around to my lectures on Monday last week, I quickly decided I was sick of it already and went exploring (and yes, I mean ALL my gear, my commute has now grown to 84km each way, and there's no way I'm going to ride that distance in AKL traffic not wearing it). Cashier was crabby with me as well. Apparently it's my fault my ID hasn't arrived yet, and yes, I have sent my photo away. I did manage to get one in the end though, may have been because I was in on the first day. I'm sure there will be some left (sorry if there's not!).

Hey firefighter, the printery is located in the Quad Building QB xxx ... as you enter the main enterance pass therough 2 sets of automatic doors leaving the enquiries office to your left, walk past the foyer and the building stares back at you. Take the steps down one level (thats how far you can go - don't stroll through the computer labs). Turn left immediately after descending the flight of stairs... ask for Mohammad and tell him Raj sent ya. He'll look after you. Massey is not that bad, although Auckland is classier. One benefit of joining a boring as campus like Massey in Albany is u actually get your study done! You might see a black R1 parked there on occasion. I am undertaking post graduate study there this year.

Also the best way to get the 'correct' book is to talk to your paper co-ordinator failing which the study brochures clearly list the recommended and additional readings. Good luck at uni mate.
