back from a two week jaunt in the Toyota motor with tents, kayaks, rods etc. Totoranui for a week... Fresh pan fried snapper caught from the kayak an hour earlier with a glass of chilled vino from the chilly bin as the sun sets behind the bush covered hills and wood pidgeons flutter above your head... Magic! Vicki and I gliding back across the mercury glossy ocean, well after dark and all you can hear is the kayaks slipping throught the water, the dipping of the paddles and the distand sizzle of the surf on the beach to home into all lit in a soft glow by our nav nights, aching muscles but fish in the hold and plenty thrown back. Double magic...
What was not magic.... unless it was black magic was the antics of many of the motorcycles we encountered.... Un freakin believeable... Sorry, we can only DO 100kph safely with all that munt and we always got out of the way as soon as we saw anyone coming up behind but shit - you just cannot physically get out of peoples way when they are going THAT much faster than you....
It didn't make me proud to ride a bike and made me chuck my bike mag in the bin and buy a kayak one to read. I think I'm getting OLD
