I have just had the pleasure of having a 2010 hd trike for the weekend, here are some impressions of said bike? will I have ridden a few ultra classic's in my time so the controls are familiar apart from the switch mounted to the left hand clutch lever which is the reverse switch, to engage you have to have the mtr running and in neutral pressing the top switch and a green light lights up then you press the btm button and an electric mtr will move you in reverse "BUT" if you keep using the button you will pop a switch on the starter relay no biggie as all you do is pop the r/hand cover and reset switch thank god for the owners manual, okay on to the ride as you let the clutch out you can feel it is pulling a bit more weight but with the 103ci eng its not a problem now the first thing you notice is when you go to take the first corner as a fair bit of imput is taken to turn said corner as you have to turn the bike as opposed to leaning so it take a little time to get your head around it but you get use to it and it's not that hard to ride and a few k's down the rd, stereo blaring it's all good.On the open rd is were this bike? excell's around town its a bit taxing so best to hit the open rd the first thing you notice on our crappy rd 's is if you hit a decent hole with one of the rear wheels it rocks slightly but the more you ride it the less you notice it so onto saturday and late afternoon on a fine beautiful wgtn day and I convince the other half to go for a ride up the coast so heading over from the hutt valley and there is a crash at pukerua bay so we head over the piecock hill now this has some corners ,bloody hell where my shoulders aching after that ,but it keeped up with the cars no probs and my missus thought it bloody comfortable brakes were awesome as there ABS equipped brembos up front and twin disc's on the rear and I had no prob's hauling it up and once you are used to it you can throw it around which I found surprising but it real place is just cruising and taking your time I evan hauled out my open face lid as my shoei just did not seem to suit this bike lol.Overall quality is typical hd and I would have one of these in my garage "BUT" I would have to have a two wheeler as well just to go for a squrt on but overall very enjoyable thanks to hd and Wellington mc's.
