Did my restricted at Quay Street this morning, Just a general ride round really. 3, yes 3 U-Turns, the first two were one after the other on a reasonably wide road (Balfour Road), the last one was in Kenwyn Street, with car's parked on both sides but still lots of room.

We pull up back at the AA centre after about 15 mins and he get's out of the car with that stern instructor face that they all seem to have, I think 'oh shit'. He then get's the nice little temporary licence book out and fills it in. I PASSED. :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: Off comes the L plate and I ride away grinning like a bastard!

The only comment from the guy was that bike speedometers 's can be way off, he rides himself and said his hornet is quite a bit under so I must have been a bit slow compared to what he was reading, other than that nothing else said.

Fucking chuffed!

Congratulations. The speedo thing is tricky, I just let the instructor know before each of my tests.

Cheers. Yeah I just didn't think that it was that out, mind you I don't tend to look at it too much, just keep with the flow. Bit different when you have to stay at 50 and everyone else is doing 55 - 60 though.

Excellent stuff, well done :) So I assume that you didn't have to do any 70 km/h + I guess there is nowhere you can in the city

Nah, no 70k. They could get you on the motorway at the ports I guess, but if (in theory) you have never been over 70k they may think it's a bit rich throwing you on there.

Well done you! Nice feeling eh to be able to legally get rid of the yellow square.

3 u-turns huh? Never heard of that before for a R, but there ya go, you learn something new every day. I guess the "learn something new" is - everyones test has enough variation in it to not be able to give a definitive "you do this, this, this, this and this".

Yeah it was really good being able to take it off, I hated the thing but always left it on.

Start the clock ticking for my next test now.. Full licence here I come!

Congrats man, I just passed my 6R yesterday out at Westgate, 2 U turns and some open road up to 100kmph (I asked prior to the test re speed limits and he confirmed that I should exceed 70), all went well apart from some interferance on the intercom channel (truckies by the sound) distracting me briefly.

Nice one. Yeah, the radio that I had to use wasn't really loud enough so a couple of times I could hear that he said something but didn't know what it was.. I just shook my head lots until he repeated himself.
