Agree entirely, my first adventure bike (and for that matter road and trail bike) was my 1970 Suzuki A100 road bike. Took it right up the tracks way beyond Lake Sumner in the South Island complete with its standard low chrome exhaust. Challenge is all about taking on anything with the tools you have.
