Taihape - Napier Rd, WaikaremoanaRd, Waipunga Rd. 26 - 28 Feb

I'm hoping to take the Transalp for its first decent run in a few weekends, Fri 26 - Sun 28 Feb
Planning to leave Tga about 1ish on the Friday, overnight in the Kawekas on the Taihape - Napier Rd either in tent or DOC hut. Then Saturday thru to Napier, Wairoa & onto Waikaremoana Rd again overnight in tent or DOC hut up the Okahu valley. Sunday will be thru the Waipunga Rd back up to Taupo for lunch then back to Tga.

Open to anyone who is keen to come along for a ride

Check to see if the Taihape - Napier road is open.

A culvert was washed out a few weeks back when we had all the rain, and when I was speaking to a truckie on Tuesday this week he said it was still closed.

slight change to plan....now going down the old Wanganui River Rd on Friday arvo, overnight at Jerusalem. Saturday ride roads between SH/W 42 & 1 & come out at Taihape then over Gentle Anne to Napier, up to Wairoa & Saturday night at Lake Waikaremoana. Back home via Waipunga &Taupo.
Will post pics when I get back
