As in the pic my plate hanger has snapped, this was caused as the second bolt hole on the larger piece was not fastened in..... and NZ's rather bumpy roads (probably not helped but jumping the subsidence on Esmonde road!)
I was thinking that a bit of ali bent to shape and resting over the break held with a bit of super glue and maybe some cable ties......
Welding looks out of the question as it is rather thin and light weight.
Any other ideas?

It really doesn't look up to the task at all.Toss it and build something that will do the job...forever.

This is the right side, there is a middle piece that actually holds the plate, light and indicators.
Point seen Motu, you may of read on here about a chap who was so cheap that he rewound his stator........ I am cheaper....

if it cant be welded, you can try and braze it.

You got a way to go yet young lad.Spending money on a bike is a sin to me....there are countless discarded jewels that can be manipulated into part of your motorcycle sculpture.Rumage in someone elses rubbish bins,I'm sure you'll find a perfect plate mount somewhere, all it needs is your imagination.

Go and get a piece of T2024 T3 0.040" Alli, and mark it out, bend and drill as required..... :done:
Oh, and the failure would be more likely caused by repeated cycles of stress caused by vibration....
