Parked in the loop at Waharoa today...
This stuff is all new unused....
They all have huge wide conveyor belts on them.. and each one has its own control area.
Thought I'd ask here... There's a wealth of knowledge on KB...:)

Dunno.... but the wagons are being towed by a DC, which is a rebuilt DA.
DAs got those steam locomotives off the lines..... :)

Look like ballast wagons and a tamping rig.
All that gravel under the tracks moves around and eventually fucks off. This lot replaces it, lifts the sleepers and pokes more gravel under 'em.

I was thinking with its location (Waharoa) and they way it seems to be made to fit that it could be something to do with re-laying the rail in the Kaimai tunnel.

They are new,so must be Chinese - the new rolling stock seems to be Chinese....and the new locos coming this year are from China too.
