It seems I have one head and yet I keep a collection of helmet for every occasion currently I own

1-half helmet
1-3/4 helmet
2-full face helmets

Three.

My first, my second and my current.

I still use the first one for doing dumb shit when not on the bike. The second is my 'pillion' helmet.

4 helmets of which one is almost unfit.

Only use the flip helmet now unless on a track.

Nolan, Shark, & Schubert figure highly in the next gen for me.

I have 2. Arai and Shoei.
One for my yellow bike (sold it not long ago) and one for my current bike. Handy to have 2. One of them had something break off it, so while waiting for the part to be imported, I still had a spare

Just tell her that the one you have is damaged cuz some tool kicked it or something and that you need a new one for saftey... just make sure you have the money to buy one right then or she will start the whole if you can ride with it for this long it cant be too dangerous argument :p

There lies the issue above. The moneys there but its for ......other things . Its okay I can accept owning 1 pricey helmet at a time. The next one I'm going to buy will be a back up / pillion but It will have to wait.

As of last week, five.

Two "budget" models that are used with the moped.

The more expemsive helmets are physically larger and won't fit under the moped seat. Apart from which, it seems silly wearing a hat that cost hundreds more than the moped.

1 Flipfront (KBC FFR).
1 MX (ZPF).
1 Adventure (ZEUS 2100B).
1 Openface (Oxford).

Nothing > $180

+ old MX, flippy, fullface that don't get used.

The openface is the most used.

Just the one. I figure I only need to legally wear one helment on one of my heads when riding, so no point having more than one.

(I do own 2 boots though which is a bit of a contradiction to the above. You might suggest I need 2 boots as I have 2 feet, but regret I've probably just put one of them in my mouth by this obtuse post).

I have a "Chips" Calafonia highway patrol job. An American "refugee" bought it with him. I used to wear it when scooting around Paihia locksmithing. I liked it as it had a click type catch that was quick to do up and undo. I wore it down town the other day on a quick shop trip, instead of my Nolan, it still felt good. I doubt it is legal in NZ.

3.

1 Cayberge V2 with internal visor
1 HJC which is for the pillion
1 slightly cheaper small one for my daughter.

And before I get flamed for the 3rd one. She only goes on the back for things like toy runs and due to the speed she is growing, can't justify an expensive one which she will grow out of having only used it 2-3 times. (can't remember make but still meets required safety standards).
Once she starts coming on the bike for regular rides, I will be purchasing number 4.

If you personally bought the Shoei, you have one. Any crashed helmet should be destroyed. I recomend a splitting axe and a pair of very strong scissors. It is actually fun to destroy a helmet that has met the ground at speed, cut the straps off it first, then attempt to smash it to smithereens. What ever it needs to be destroyed. The FFM that came with the bike? Is it safe? Meh, maybe it is maybe it isn't, I reckon offer points to see if it smashes slower than the one you know has gone to ground in a crash.

Me, I have one helmet. It is a Shoei.

my old chipped, repetadly dropped black full face... dont rememner the brand as it was many many years ago...

OMG! I had one of those too! It was spray painted matt bleck, had no visor and was so old the foam inside the padding was falling from it like dandruff  In fact I may still have it lurking around somewhere :D

It came with me along with my leather jacket and my Docs when my first marraige went splat! How could I have forgotten that one

The FFM that came with the bike? Is it safe?

It's perfectly safe as the shelf ornament that it is. No reason to wear an FFM when I have a perfectly good Shoei (that, yes, I bought myself).

Nice helmet eh? Is yours noisey? Mine is terrible riding pillion, lovely on my own bike.

It's never bothered me. I've only worn it as a pillion once or twice but I didn't notice any significant difference in noise level. I used to wear ear plugs while riding but eventually gave it up since I couldn't be bothered getting them comfortable every time I put the helmet on and keeping track of them taking it off.
