Hi Everyone
Canterbury Chapter of TOMCC is looking to host a National Triumph rally and we need a nice site within an hours ride of Christchurch or Westport to cater for around 250 bikers. We would need at least 70 bunks and a nice camping site for tents. Also nice kitchen and toilet blocks are essential as Triumph riders like to eat hearty meals, drink heaps of piss and have huge dumps :-).
In the past we have used Lee Camp out Rangiora way and would like to try somewhere different. A scout camp or similar would be ideal. We have been told Livingsprings in Banks Peninsula but would like other recommended sites also.
Any idea's anyone?.

Scout camp at Waipara is great, not sure if there are 70 bunks though. The Christchurch Folk Music Festival is held there every year and it's a lovely place for camping, has a large hall and kitchen/dining room etc.
I found this link, that might be useful. There are some ski lodges there that might do a good deal for a summer rally ...

Hope the Dunedin rally went well ~

Hi Karla
Thanks for the PDF file.
The Mosgiel rally was a huge success and the best one yet. We had round 250 through the gates and the camp site was absolutely beautiful with native bush camp sites. The amenities were spotless and the only thing that was of concern was a bit of rain before the Saturday ride to Portabello.

It was a beaut camp site & good rally. The canterbury & Otago/southland crew did a great job
Who would think you'd get a workout on those stairs while exercising the arm.;) Shame about Sat's rain but it turned into a nice day. Some very nice bikes there & a good mix off old & new & I luved peoples choice!
I haven't stayed at Boyle River lodge for years but it was awesome 20yrs ago & a good ride for all. The wekas might be a bit larger than those down sth
Mt Lyford lodge always welcome bikes & they hint that they would love to host a large group.

Pudding Hill up Methven way. The place is for sale at the mo and is listed on Trademe if you want to have a good look at it on line.

Living Springs is a great camp - been on a school camp there with my daughter.
But it will not suit you alcohol-fired, shit-talkingTriumph riders as it is a Christian camp and the devils water is not permitted.
Try Blue Skys (think it is still called that) in Kaiapoi, it's the scout camp HQ and very well set up for large numbers.
