I'm looking at getting my ZX6's ecu reprogrammed.
I've finally got myself a nice completed exhaust system and I'm about to fit it today, the question is, do I buy a power commander and load the program for my exhaust (akrapovic) or do I get my standard ecu tuned on a dyno?
Do you have any for or against in doing this?

Buy the powercommander, then get it tuned on the dyno.
While you can just go and load someone elses map for the same exhaust there are other variables that affect the tuning. No guarantee you'll get the same results with someone elses map. It'll never be as good as getting it tuned specifically for your bike.

Buy the Kawasaki race ECU and get it tuned on the dyno. Much more elegant solution than the Power Commander. If you need the part number PM me

Tuneboy is another option ...
Available at some NZ dealers, cheaper option than a powercommander

How much does it cost compared to a Power Commander?

Not really, it was well priced due to a huge amount of loyalty to my local dealer in regards to my purchase of recent years. I'm sure if you went and asked at your local shop they may be able to do a deal for you to.
Check on trade me at the moment there is currently a second hand unit there for $150 which may be suitable for you.
