Milford...ride up the hollyford for a night at gunns camp.

Over the Nevis.

Take the bike across Lake Wakatipu on the Earnslaw then ride from Walter Peak to Te Anau, Turn off and Camp at Mavora lakes on the way.

If you like a bit of dirt, and are travelling over the Lindas turn of to lake Ohau and carry on up the Hopkins valley to the huxley Jtn...nice camping area and the fishing is not bad either

Top of lake Tekapo to lily bank station the up the Godley as far as you can...Gets rough after a while

Lees Valley Loop in Canterbury

Lake Heron inland Canterbury, Call in at Lake Heron station and ask permission to ride around to the Rakaia, May charge a couple of $. Could over night at the Downs hut on the stn with permission

Camp at Haast and cruise down to Jacksons bay with detour to the Cascade...Beautiful country.

Molesworth if it is open

OK... just a few days left in the south . .. and a few observations for others... Its a great time of year to be here ... i had whitebait patties on the road near haast cooked by a waikato girl who got snaffled up by some southern man ... battered bluffies at the scenic circle hotel in gore ... bloody great ... blue cod is everywhere and fresh is best.....sushi salmon on the tekapo canals... yum... and still to come crays on the Kaikoura coast... As to the riding ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, well ..... The molesworth cost me a pannier ( bloody tractor and caravan ffs)... The Nevis was full of water and pretty delicate especially out on the flats and in the boghole bits.... Had a great time up the Ball Hut rd @ Mt cook ... ...tough road on a hot day ... bailed before the end .... fffs it just kept getting rougher ... been baptised in the land ...
