I was stunned myself when I found these posters sprouting up all over the Shore http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php/114662-Look-at-what-they-ve-put-at-the-top-of-my-street!?highlight=they%27ve+put+top+street

As usual, no suggestion that maybe it is cagers who should have the compulsary training. To teach them some rudiments of how to drive.

I don't see a whole lot of evidence to support the theory that motorcyclists are any more proficient on the road than car drivers.

But it goes to the mindset.

I agree, that in combination with educating a target audience such as Car drivers, that they are sharing the road with other road users.

Waah Waaah Waah.
At least they have started to do something which is a lot more than can be said for some, including the motorcycling fraternity.
why can't you just say it is a good start or are you not happy unless you have something to cry about.
i have seen just as many biker whom need some more training.

My "other" was " separate motorbikes from cars in rush hour by allowing bikes to use the motorway bus lanes" . You can not hit cars and cars can not hit you if you are not mixed. By all means greatly enforce the speed limit in the bus lanes , it's still going to be quicker than lanesplitting or riding to the letter of the law in the wet with a car 2 meters of your tail, and I suspect, even safer ( sarcasm ).
I some how suspect by option will not be looked at :(

There is a definate loading of the questions. Sort of like "we are going to fuck you over, but in a pleasant and relaxing manner" approach.

If you don't like the Questions then go back to the start and choose motorist.
two entrys and you can load the answers against cars.

I did both
but i agree that some of the questions are loaded and i doubt much will come out of it that is positive for motorcyclists (I hope i am wrong)
I am also annoyed they stated that motorcyclists are 18 times more likely to be killed or injured without qualifying it (therefore reinforcing misleading facts)

Most definitely they are and who do you think they get their facts from?
at the end of the day cages hate bikes, ACC hates bikes, so what do you think will happen?
Not a lot is my guess but if it leads to better training for all than it is headed in the right direction.
Its like the court summons i got the other day, i says i might have to sit some driver education. WTF?? driver?? I was on my bike but because it is aimed at cages i most likey will have to do another defensive driving course, again aimed at cars.
But what else can we do?

Looking at the questions, I'm wondering if the North Shore City Council are being used as a front for someone else...???
It's amazing the list of strange things that our NSCC rates pay for....
Everytime I get my rates bill there are a few full colour leaflets showing the different way in which they've wasted our money
Hopefully this bike campaign is not a waste of money, but I would expect ACC or Land Transport to be undertaking this, not the council.

Surely: "Run more campaigns aimed at drivers, urging them to look out for motorcyclists"
Is a start?
My point was for all road users to be made more aware of and encouraged to follow the road code.
