Well after a bit of site housekeeping the Alternative Wednesday Night Rides Program is posted in the Calendar through to the end of current daylight saving, last event being 31 March 2010
Please note that these rides have various destinations and meeting points.
The rides are in an addition to the current WNCR - Wellington Wednesday Night Cruisie Ride and are not a replacement to that weekly ride.
You now have the opportunity to look at the Wednesday Daylight Saving Wednesday Night Rides Program Until 31 March 2010, and make your own choice of whichever ride/s you may want to attend.
A few comments about the first two rides:
24 February - Harbour and Bays by its very nature a lower speed zone ride.
3 March - The Three Hills - note a pre-ride will occur next Sunday 28 Feb enroute to Martinborough for the Police Training morning. More details will follow.
I hope you enjoy the remainder of the daylight saving period and the rides ahead.

A good ride over the three hills today. All roads were good.
Heads up for Wednesday: the ride will go over Wallaceville and Mangaroa Hills and then to Rimutaka Hill summit. Returning down SH2 turning left at Te Marua, through Maymorne, Mangaroa, and Whitemans Valley intersection - proceeding directly to Wallaceville Hill and to Trentham and finishing at Silverstream Cafe and Sports Bar (opposite Silverstream railway station).

Hey hey. Nice to see you all briefly at the summet tonight. So sorry I didn't stop properly. I got rather confuesed and it took me a while to recoginse everyone. Was following the other group over to Featherston, got rather left behind, and thought it was them stopping. Ah crap, that must have come across as being so rude. Sorry, I really got confused. Néxt time I'll say a proper hello.
Hope the ride went well. Another windy evening. Was not my favourite ride back over the hill tonight.

Wasn't mine either. I had spent hours doing my hair before riding, only to have it ruined in that wind!

No that would have been $6.00 for the beer and $50.00 for 'corkage'

Cool pictures David, by the time we got back down to the inlet the sun was well over the horizon, perhaps that's why so many of you didn't see the road slump going up the hill from the inlet just before coming down to Mana - well I suppose that is a good excuse. The slump has caught me out a few times with sudden front suspension k-thump. I see the road work markings on the road at the slump it is about time it is fixed.
Also you recall I mentioned the Wainui Coast Road ride, well it so happens there are rides Fri, Sat, Tues, & Wednesday over this coming week - they are in the main calendar.

It was a good ride up the Paekak hill and a good return around Gray's Rd. Nice to blow a few cobwebs off.... That big truck was a tad close coming around the tight right hander. I had to make a quick line adjustment and I am sure my close quarters follower would have made an even bigger one!

The 250 riders and I were just approaching the Motukaraka/Grays Rd intersection and had a clear view of the monster coming along the inlet, slowed right down and was well left when the truck was on that notorious bend just before the intersection.:scooter::scooter::scooter:

Hi Carla - Look forward to catching up with you. Allowing 45 minutes to get up through Whitemans Valley, Mangaroa, Maymorn, and Te Marua, and on up to the Rimutaka Hill summit - around 7.15/7.25pm I would think we should be there. We'll take a short stop at the summit and return back to the Hutt Valley.
Cheers
News Update - I won't riding the Kawasaki Green Machine sold this evening.

Well the weather looks like absolute rubbish this afternoon.
Over the past two months, the programmed rides on the Tuesday evening for 250c paced riders were certainly well attended by a wide variety of bikes of all sizes, with several rides exceeding 15 riders. While there were reduced numbers for the Alternate Wednesday evening programmed rides there was a general theme that having an alternative ride was worthwhile and practical, particularly with routes and meeting points linked to Google Maps.
Next Wednesday is a 'backup evening' in the event of bad weather for the final Tuesday evening meal destination ride.
In the meantime I have just completed my recent blogg entry that reviews the current Daylight Saving season.

I am unlikely to make any more of the Tues/Alternative Wed rides. Thanks for organising these Guy. It was a good tool for the learners and novices to get out and enjoy social riding at a pace anyone could cope with. My bike didn't overheat too badly!
