View Full Version : Upgrade to vB 4.0.2

SpankMe
24th February 2010, 08:43
I've upgraded to vB 4.0.2 which has many bug fixes.

Just some of the over 200 bug fixes:

[Groups] The "View All Groups" page needs significant improvements
[IE6] Various IE 6 Compatibility issues
[Lightbox] Date and name overlap in the Lightbox if the picture is relatively small
[Member Profile] Fixed Blog Tab and Custom Tab problem in Member Profile page.
[Search] "Find All Threads" by person
[Search Results] Miscellaneous Search Bug fixes.
[Settings] User link broken in Settings -> New Visitor Messages
[Smilies] Smilies not resizing in Smilie Box
[Updated UI] User Settings Pages
[Updated UI] Registration Screens
[Updated UI] Advanced Search Pages
[Updated UI] Moderation Pop-up Menu

Currently the only style compatible with 4.0.2 is The Light Universe. I am still working on making The Dark Zone work with this new version.

Any problems, post them here.

When i click reply to post, the reply text box and associated options dissapears off the right hand side of the screen. The only way to post is to click the Go Advanced button...

Visitor messages are still below the left menu pane too.

And i feel kinda snow blind too.

That's pretty ancient. Any chance you can simply upgrade to a modern version?

Surely you have virtualised development environments that are separate from your normal, fun-type system?

Have you thought about Portable Chrome (http://www.srware.net/en/software_srware_iron_download.php)? They call it Iron (don't know why), but it's Chrome.

I only upgraded to IE 8 because the last upgrade did not work on the IE version I was using, even though everything else was fine. Now I am using IE 8 and you have upgraded again and it is not compatible  Will you friggen stop! This PC is old and works well for us, we cant afford to replace the PC. You need to look at the font colour to log on, I have black font on black background again.

Umm, I'm not sure if it is the new look or not, but kb is REALLY SLOW for me at the moment. Taking a long time to bring up a page, etc. I hope it is just a temporary thing. I'd gotten used to the khaki colour, but this green is a bit too vibrant and doesn't go with the kb logo yellow, IMO.

Sorry to be negative, spankMe, I'm sure there are lots of good features I haven't noticed. The slow speed is my main concern (yes, I am on dial-up) Will check back later and hope it is speedier! :)

EDIT: This reply posted quickly, so perhaps things are improving already! Is that possible?

EDIT 2: Speed is fine now, so I was mistaken and it isn't the new upgrade. Something else must have been going on. Disregard above complaint about speed, please. Cheers.

When using the Bike Trader search engine. The typed model is not viisible until you press enter, typo's only become apparent then.

Don't you love testing code and then having the 'clients' find all the glitches.:shit:

I went back and had another look at the help section and realised that you need to put a tag in the message....you used to be able to simply paste the embed script straight into a message/thread.

Thanks. I did try that last night. I tested it again and it works now but I wonder if the reason it didn't last night was that I did not have anything in the subject line
.

I also note that the IMG tag has changed from off to on. I don't know whether that has anything to do with it.

Thanks for keeping the site going

cheers

Spank,

I'm having all sorts or issues with links getting broken here and there all the time, I tried for ages tonight to get to the site stuff forum category, it would just make the whole page go white. Sometimes when I click on FORUM from the home page it then changes me to "light universe" and then back again when I enter a sub category.
Tonight it also keeps telling me I have new private messages when I've already read them.

This is happening here at home using Safari 4.0.2.

I've tried rebooting, clearing cookies and anything else I can think of.

Any more suggestions?
