Whats the best goo to use on a 06 Cbr 600RR clutch cover?

I have watched a mechanic mate do this 3 times and he always used his Red Baron special sauce
I failed once already and when I cleaned my Repco "red master gasket maker number 7 hi temp silcone"
to start again I noticed that his black goo was alot harder to get off Whats the best stuff that is availible to Joe Public?

Hylomar Universal Blue is one of the better sealants out there.

I can recommend Hylomar Blue. I got mine from Repco. Get both metal surfaces thouroughly clean, then coat both metal surfaces with Hylomar Blue, let it set (maybe 30s), then put it all together.

you can't seriously be suggesting to make an entire gasket out of hylomar right?

I had assumed it was going to be used with a gasket.

Haha. No, you still need the gasket. It is just to help seal it.

YES they were. I made the entire gasket out of master gasket red silicone and no paper gasket is required
Its holding up fine, do you want pics???

I have a 600RR as well and have had to do this. Honda in their infinite wisdom is too good for gaskets. They don't make a clutch cover or stator cover gasket. They use a sealant instead. IMO, gaskets are the easier way to go, especially since it is a pain to have to clean off the residue off the mating surfaces. I use Permatex with great success..... I just don't know if you guys have that stuff down there or not. Glad to hear it is working well though.
