Pete at Moto Kiwi has wrecked a few earlier bikes and has more stock than anyone else i know in country.
Two other options - I can ask the aussie louts (what are you wanting and are we talkin 750 or 1100 breva??
Without a doubt I'd chance jumping onto the US forums as well (Guzzi Tech or Wild Goose) as 99% of those guys are bloody decent and to be trusted.

cheers paul, its a 1100 Breva that is now maddmaxs (was her hubbies) She was guttered that insurance wants to right it of when all it needs to be riden is a rear set, the rest can be fixed.
Looks like the Aussies have pulled through which will be easier than the yanks and the UK, but these contacts are for new Im sure there must be damaged bikes in NZ somewere.

Might not be Emoto's fault on the delay, that is if I heard right and Triumph NZ has the national agency for these rumour has it if its not Triumph parts you wait a long time for service.

No its Emoto, since Alice left its bulshit, the owner needs to steep in more and pull finger, a curtacy call or email if to much to ask for, however Renies work shop is well run but that has nothing to do with the turky on the shop floor.

Pete has an account with Guzzi and can get new stuff and is less greedy on the markup than the dealerships. I got a Griso rear guard from him for $123 to my door where the dealer said it would be $265+freight!
He has not wrecked any Breva's that I know of but has a 2006 Griso (my old one) for wrecking and some bits are interchangable between that and the Breva.
There was a guy asking on the UK forum for Breva bits and no one could help him, even the pommy owned French wreckers.

I have Kiwimotos price list right here... the Aussie price list is 1/2 the cost... but need to add 10% gst and exchange rate, still works out cheaper eg: NZ headlight = $840, OZ headlight = $450

I was after used parts... but thats turned SFA up, so new it is... between Stein Dinse and P Roper ther is a saving to be made, enough to stop the insurance company from riting the bike off and bringing it back to new.

Are we talking voltage regulator or the diode board?
The regulator is available from any auto electrical place- then you can get a soild state one, the diode board is interchangable with BMW boxers.

We're talking 1993 not 1973!
Solid state Ducati unit - part No. appears to be 3436_9
2 input wires from alternator, two red outputs joining to one red lead to battery, and a white and a black output (warning light?)

Sorry Don, I thought it was the same as Mk5 (1991) which is basically the same as Mk1 (1976)

Na its all good now, to get around the bike being writen off Seona will not claim on the exhaust (fark all damage anyway) it was priced to be replaced.
So the bike will now go through insurance saving me a hole lot a time and Seona will get her Hubbies bike back which will become hers, making her a much happier chick.

Guzzi Reg/Rec -
- tried KiwiMoto - $335 + p&p but not in stock.
- mcdownunder - $363 ex Italy
Tried local HD / Custom bike shop (HD Cycles, Hamilton) NEW HD unit $180, second hand but barely used $80 !!!!
Guess which one I went for !
Only downside, base model Harley's don't have a generator/alternator warning light, but I can put up with that for the moment.

The poxy ducati one is not flash at all - even die hard ducati freaks have tales of them busting into flames at difficult moments.
Basically, an aftermarket (or home made) solid state rec / reg will do the job.
Any tech questions re Guzzis refer to Guzziology (about $90) and the best investment any guzzi rider can make OR ask here..
