Get yourself to Napier and I'll see what I can do.
I will be hitching down this Wednesday- will arrive Napier about mid arvo-
If you can get me to Waipawa that will be very cool!
Then after I have got it I head for Palmy for the night ,then on to New Plymouth for WOMAD on Friday Saturday Sunday. Then home via Otorohanga and Te Awamutu and Morrinsville

CW, on your way back north.....turn off after Taumarunui (18kms north of Taumarunui) towards Ongarue, up Waimiha / Ongarue road towards Bennydale, to Pureora, cut thru Pureora forest (check at the headquarters for the route, its a bit vague otherwise) then towards Whakamaru and follow the Waikato north.
You actually get the tyres dirty this way and its a great ride.......watch some of the side roads in the Pureora, they can swallow bikes DAMHIK!

Er thanks all for your advice and best wishes and choice ride info.......
But I came back without the bike- The deal diddnt happen and I walked away without it.
The hitching adventure was just STELLAR though. I could write a small book about the characters I met along my 800km hitching journey!

The bike was at his place- he was cool. the owner is Andrew Peers-Adams and he is a fuckin WANKER!
I turned up with a Marac Finance cheque for 3 grand and the balance in folding notes. Peers Adams decided that it was not good enough- he wanted a BANK CHEQUE and would not accept The finance company's cheque so I was turned around at 7.00pm to hitch home to Waihi in the dark.....

Only had 1 dealing with Steve...years ago...the bike was not up to what he claimed. The Wary Meter (TM) engaged when I realised where you were describing.

When you started this thread I PM'd you a offer of getting you down here with someone I know, you only had to pay 1/2 petrol. Clearly I live in HB and would happily have helped you (accommodation, transport etc). The transport was for last Friday. But could easily have been sorted for another time. If you had contacted and replied to me...
The story you have here portrayed is clearly your look at it all. But somehow I get the feeling that there is another side to the story. No skin of my nose. But to name people on here and in the fashion you do is questionable.
And as you would know, in HB there are many KB's. So to have to hitch-hike back to Waihi in middle of night was not your only option.
Shit happens. But this too will pass.

Thanks for your two cents worth Quizzy- and I did appreciate your offer but only discovered your PM after friday had been and gone and presumed that it was only good for that Friday.
Other side of the story?..... the only other side of the story that I think will come out is that this dude is normally heavily medicated and he has fogotten to take the calm pills.
He is VERY VERY strange -he treated me like dirt and put Steve and his wife in an extremely awkward and embarrassing situation.
