Right, its coming up for a year since I sold my last ride and it got the itch real bad (and yes I got a prescription from the doc - GET ANOTHER BIKE !)

Looking at an 04 GSX600F and an 03 Speed Four.

Comments please.

Cheers

now there's 2 different bikes!

speed 4 for me every time

efi over carb (would be a pretty big consideration for me)
water cooled over air
a good 30kg lighter
and i would guess about 2secs faster over a 1/4 (11 and 13?)
top speed 230ish over 205km/h

that, and imo the trump is much much better looking

obviously there are other things to consider

condition (recon costs)
mileage
price (take into account accessories u might like or are included)
history
and, which do you feel better riding? (kinda important)

Cheers,

The trupmy has about 10k more km's and is $500 dearer.

The GSX is in excellent condition without any scuffs on the fairings and being typically Japanese there are plenty of parts when you need them at mass produced prices.

The speed 4 is also in good condition but I've never looked at owning a naked bike before so it would be a bit of a mind-set change. Also, if something happens and I need to replace or get some parts will the prices be over the top.

mmmmmmm ???????????

Triumph parts prices aren't too bad, and I never had any trouble with availability (had an 05 speed four).
They're a fantastic handling bike, no comparison with the gsx in that regard. They also sound awesome with an after market muffler.
I had mine from new, sold it with about 70,000km on it. It's up to around 80k now with the current owner. Still awesome.

close to 90k on my trophy when i sold it and was stil a lovely bike, and that was def a 'riders' machine, had real character

the katana to me is just soooo vanilla

do you want people looking/asking you about your bike or do you just want to fade into the scenary? this will be one of the differences between the two
