Round 4 been and gone, there were only 6 chairs on the grid?

Can some one tell me the truth behind why there was a wedding on the same weekend, so lots could/would not turn up

sorry, but from the outside it is rather smelly

Dont be paranoid. Sidecar racing isint the only thing in the world. When half the family are from the UK (yes Chris & Ritchie are poms) & the other half are from the USA, people have to organise around other things.
I know some people would like to think it was all about them, but the only place they figure large is probably in their own heads.

Just cause it smells of shit doesn't mean that it is!!
Are you implying that Chris organised his wedding after the date for Manfeild came out? When exactly was the date for Manfeild finalised?
As bob has stated, a few people had to come from around the globe. This wedding was organised well in advance of Manfeild dates being known.

Perhaps the real question should be: Would most competitors choose a function of fellow like minded people over the Nationals?
Or are certain people trying to start a conspiracy theory to justify low numbers.......

I can tell you right now that I won't be at Hampster Downs on the 27/28th.
I have to work. Make up for the 6 weekends off in a row that I've had.

Let's see if that starts a bad smell! :shifty::yes:

Darren Pate might not be there, as his engines done a big end. He doesn't like smelly fish either........

Chris Lawrance will probably be hit with supplying another medical clearance to race so probably won't bother to race there also. But as you know - he is smelly!!!

Tracey and Bob - Well, he'll be up to his usual tricks, and will smell !!!

Tracey may be in the position of needing to visit her son in Wanganui that weekend as per a long standing arrangment, so may not be there, regardless, she will smell divine.

Sorry to burst anyones bubble, but at closing date they never had enough entries for the class to be awarded points at that round. Check ya rulebook for that clause.

MNZ rule 4-10-8 which clearly states that:
“At closing date for entries, if a minimum of 6 entries have not been received, then the championship class will not run for that year, provided that if the event is part of a series then this will apply only to that round.”

That's why lawyers make big money - to clear up any ambiguity.
The clause in MNZ's rulebook is very specific Kick. The closing date for entries was clear on the entry form too.

I wouldn't agree, it doesn't say anything anywhere about a "closing date" and it also has a late entry fee, then there is rule 5-5-7

5-5-7 Any club not allowing late entries must print words to this effect on entry forms if entry
forms are printed for any particular event.

Can you please show me on the form where it says the club won't allow late entries?

So with that logic then, the words 'BY 5th February at 5pm' must be the late entry then. So again it spells it out that the absolute late entry was 5th feb. You only had 3 sidecars entered - not enough for championship points.

Who really gives a shit if they had only 3 sidecars entered, six showed up? They got their shit together and you didn't. I used to have a lot of respect for you and the things you had accomplished, but lately you have just shown yourself to be a bitter old man acting like a 5 year old.

You are fully entitled to believe what you want mate.
Over 8 other sidecar teams are absolutely pissed at certain members who went against our associations wishes. What is an association for? The wellbeing of all our members by majority vote.

I couldn't care less about what people think about me - I've done lots of things good for our sport in the past, hence I am on here being vocal for the ones that don't want public ridicule.
Stand over and bully boy tactics should not have any influence in our sport. Simple.
K14 - If you (and nearly 1/2 your class) felt certain people were wrecking your sport for you and the rest of your class, wouldn't you stand up for your class?

Yes most definately, but in my opinion all of your fairly immature and sarcastic comments on here are doing just as much harm to your sport as the supposed "certain people".

Why Bother, they obviously do not want a championship to race in, so why cater for more not to turn up to race, at other riders exspenses. Which classes are you looking to drop from the Vic club series to get some of these chairs there

Shaun, at various times you've told me to back off from certain threads, but you constantly rabbit on on these ones about politics and stuff that you only know 1 side of.
Dude, how can you say we obviously don't want a championship?? Have you not read and understood half of the shit written about this years championship? ALL the teams wanted a championship!!
All you seem to be doing Shaun is inflamming the situation. As a figurehead of the sport we both love - I thought you'd be more proactive.

I must admit Shaun, you seem to be arguing both sides here. Complaining that not enough chairs show up and then poopooing someone who appears to be trying to help?

Speaking from an objective point of view I get the feeling there is some serious sorting out at an association level so that everyone is pointing in the right direction.

1) I can see how you would be thinking this, but when only 6 chairs and One of them was not a member of the chair association turns up to race, one has to wonder where it has all gone wrong, apparently I only know one side of the story? I have been told a lot by a lot of the riders, so maybe I do and maybe I do not?

2) Your above comment is bang on, as a group they need to get there shit together obviously, or this would just not be happening, simple.

I admire your determination Foxzee... Crikey.

The way I see it, and you are allowed to tell me to shut up if you like, is this:
Yes, VMCC could well run Sidecars too (and will do a darn fine job of it).... Just that there is a full card of classes.
SO, the only way to really run it properly without pressuring the "Behind the Scenes" personnel, would be to have 2 day meetings.

Every Class on the card has as much right to be there as anybody, so can't cut classes....

Sorry,

 There was no definite closing date for entries on the form, the words 'BY 5th February at 5pm' could just as easily mean any entry after this date is a late entry
