Looks ok other than the exhaust. That bit looks a bit odd. Never riden off-road bikes or motards so I have nothing to campare other than looks.
Found this site (http://www.husky.com.au/2005bikes/sm610/sm610.htm) though since I can't veiw pdf files.

it has all the bits a quality moto needs, get it over here!!! :D
Oh yes,I'd be VERY interested in that - but would your importers be interested in my $100 cash offer plus almost running TF100 deal? I've lusted after a Husky since I rode a TE510 in the early 90s....a flattracker with 18in front and rear with comp trials tyres and running on alky...kinda a motard I guess.
When is the XT660 motard coming out? Did NZ buy all the worlds stock of XT600Es? they must need to run them out before we see it.

The dual sport XT660 is in the country, I had a squiz at one at a Yamaha dealer in Hamiltopia. I think they imported it themselves, rather than through Yamaha NZ.
Personally I'm not convinced, as they've lost the fold up gear/brake levers, and there's too much plastic for a trail bike.
The 'tard version would probably be a looker though.. Don't tell us you're going to give up a life of knobbly tires for a 'tard Motu?

Tis nice and the spec looks good. Would I buy it - maybe . Probably yes if I had decided on a 'tard

oh yes.. I would buy that in a heartbeat if the price was right!! beeeuartiful! got all the right bits for the road too (given that i've learnt my lesson about track days on your commuter!) but still has the mojo where it counts.

What do you think of this Husqvarna?
All depends on the seat! Currently running around on a KTM 525, a piece of 4x2 would be more comfortable to sit on than the standard seat.
Pictures are all very well, but the only way to find out is to bring one in and give it to us :D

i'd be keen - been tossing up a KTM motard or superduke as a TL replacement, after my 'busa let-down in auckland a few weeks ago. not sure about the 39kw though - do a fair bit of open rd high speed commuting. this has got some cool gear on it though. did someone say around $14k?

Yep - RRP is proposed at $14k.

i don't think its one of those bikes you'd want to go open road cruising on. having said that, you're more likely to keep off the demerit points on a husky than a Busa on the open road, so its not all bad! The discomfort and inability of motards to handle typical open road 'cruising' or 'who does that cheeky bugger think he is overtaking me?' speeds is one of the main reasons I want one!

This (http://www.supermotech.co.uk/) website is a pretty good gateway to Euro motards I've found.
Still think GasGas have the sexiest factory 250 motard available. Either them or the Kramit 250SM. Can't find any info on the Kramit though. Besides mention of it using a rotax 2stroke. Having adjustable powerband, and fully adjustable front and rear suspension. Oh and lots of carbon. The Kramit website is useless to non-existant and there doesn't seem to be much else on the net about them.
Anyone ever heard of it.

hey dave.
i owned a 2002 KTM supermoto 640, and this looks pretty similar in spec.
at 142 kgs dry it's a little heavier than the '05 KTM from memory, but the SM610 is the streetbike rather than the racebike.
the suspension components (Marz and sachs) look inferior to the KTMs (WP front and back), but the flatslide carb is a plus.
the aus site says the bike has a CV though - can you confirm the bike will ship in NZ with a Keihin FCR?
new KTMs are $15500 and the 2005 is pretty mean with the new headlight, twin pipes ala KTM Duke etc.
at $13999 - the husky is certainly in the ballpark.
man - chop 6" out of the suspension travel and it would be SWEEEET

hey thats a cool bike i own a 04 husky 450 smr has now done 8000kms in 6 months and is still going strong i just keep it serviced regulary allthough i service it my self as the local dealer (colmans suzuki are a big pack of &%$# :puke: )and i should have never bought the bike off them as they offer "no warranty as the bike is used on the road" even though they registerd it for me  these bikes (thats all husqvarnas are meant to come with a 24 month warrenty!! and the importer is no help eather!! so i use r&d husqvarna in aussie (www.husky.co.au) who have been :niceone: and always give a very good service they used 2 be the aussie importer so have most pats in stock and are no more expensive and quite often cheaper than nz shops basicly if your gonna bring these bikes in just make sure u have the service back up to go with it!!
