We have a walking school bus that comes past our house everyday. Really cute litle kids with big back packs on heading out to school for the day. Some of them are eager little things, some dawdle along. This morning I heard some shouting outside, both adult and child voices raised, followed by some really over the top howling that only a really angry child can do out of pure frustration. I went to have a look and here was this little charmer, who between howling, was yelling "get fucked" and "fuck you" at the bloke that walks them to school. There were actually 2 of these cuties swearing for what they were worth.

I was absolutely shocked! What potty mouths from really young kids. Makes you wonder what they hear at home eh?

Aye... seems to be becoming more and more frequent these days... hopefully the kids have just heard the words and not been "attacked" with them at home... Gotta feel sorry for the person walkin the kids to school... seems to be turning into a thankless "task"... Perhaps they should be armed with a tazer for those special occasions...

Yep, TV is stealing their innocence, where as back in the day kids could live through War, disease, famine and all the suffering that goes with it in the flesh. Oh Glory be to the days when wife beating was a sport, and the cops didn't dare stick their noses into what might be going on at home.

Oh yeah, and back then kids didn't use swear words...........HA FUCKING HA.

So you think kids dont live through war, disease famine and all that other stuff?....And you think that wife beating etc has changed? People are still abusing other people...that will never change. As far as cops go, they were able to give kids a quick hard boot up the bum and send em on their way...

And swearing....Nope...never swore till I was a teenager....cos I knew I would get a fair clip around the ears...(not a beating but an honest smack)

Oh give me the simplicities of life 30 years ago!

I actually felt really sorry for this little boy, he obviously had a bad start at home, it was him and his brother doing all the yelling, all of 6 years of age too.

It's when I hear things like 'Fuck off, whitey" that I really worry...I mean, whatever happened to teaching them their place?

That's right, NZ is free of war, famine and the common childhood diseases of the past, and the cops no longer defer to the man of the house.

People who view the past in a bubble need it popped.

Did the "school bus" throw a rod or something?

They do "parrot" what they hear at home ... they may not use those words at home, but they've learned it gets a response ... so they use it. They most likely DONT know what the words mean ... but they use it anyway ...

I do my best not to show it... but inside I laugh my arse off when some little kid comes out with a tirade that would make a sailor blush, especially when it's all in context.
Myself, I became fluent in swearing when I was about four... courtesy of a young bloke up the road I hung out with.
It DEFINITELY didn't please my parents!
