Did the Coromandel loop yesterday, in a car. We were taking a Pommie friend to see the countyside.
What a great day, perfect riding weather, but I was muttering to myself every time a bike went past, especially the Ducatis north of Whitianga and the 999 on the Kaiaua Rd.
To the guys on the TLS and Hayabusa near the summit at Coromandel, nice cornering lines!
My wife wants a weekend at Whitianga soon, I said fine as long as we go on the bike.

There are few things in life more annoying than being stuck in a car watching bikes whizzing past knowing that you could be doing the same. On a couple of occasions when the weather was iffy I've taken the car to Tauranga. The first time it turned out to be a bad mistake as the weather was fine from the Bombays. Grrr.... On the second occasion the decision was the right one. Heavy rain starting at Paeroa and continuing for the rest of the journey: I would have got soaked. Heater on, stereo playing, feeling smug as well as snug.
Have done a couple of trips with my wife (as yet unwilling to go pillion - doesn't she trust me?) in the car, me on the bike. Best of both worlds...:niceone:

I saw that 999 when we stopped at Kaiaua for lunch Lou. nice bike.. shame the owner hadn't got the aftermarket exhaust system for it yet.

<DIV>went to snell's beach yesterday, little traffic, and did not see 1 cop. very nice ride and a fantastic day for it.

sorry Lou, not rubbing it in or anything, I too know what it is like to be stuck in the car with the misses on a fine day, happens all to often.</DIV>
