I could throw a 100mph fast ball when I was 25. Not much control unfortunately.
They are trying to spice up the 50 over contest by making it easier to score runs via fielder placement restrictions. These are mandatory rather than tactical in baseball.
No doubt the nomenclature would be borrowed from baseball.
'Power play' is more widely used in Ice Hockey. Where a penalty reduces the number of players on the ice - would have some relevance to the cricket term also.
