Was looking at the Suzuki website last week and I see that they do not list the Burgman 400 anymore. Have heard a rumour that sales were low and might have been discontinued (in NZ anyway)
Anyone heard anything about why they aren't being made available. They are a great scoot and were only just a bit dearer than the 250cc model, so was just wondering what the rationale was for such a move.

i would have thought the 250 for 'L' crowd, and if anyone wanted anything bigger it would be straight to the 650?

650 and scooter in the same breath seems sort of wrong somehow imho

sad to say, i may have to look at trading the ol' bandit for something like it, kinda 50/50 whether i'll get full use of the clutch hand back.
the 2 other options are the aprilia mana (out of price range) or that spacecraft honda dn-01, but the burgman has a better power:weight ratio!!!

Depends entirely what you want one for. The 400 is an excellent machine. Just not as big/thirsty/heavy/cumbersome in traffic as the 650. Obviously the 650 is nippier two up and on the open road. But for commuting, I'd rather have a 400.

If the proposed power weight ratio limit comes in for learners the 250cc gouging will stop. I think the proposals would see learners getting close to the Yamaha 500 cc scoot so the burger400 will have a bigger pool of users to sell to, maybe then they will stock them then.

The Burgman 400 was one of the scoots in my consideration list before I ended up with the M50. I was tempted by the Burgman 400's legendary fuel economy but then for its price (I was looking at 2007 or later) a motorbike would give a better value for the money.

Their timing is a bit wrong.
They should have waited until the new ACC rort cuts in, sales will go through the roof!

It is true - I was at Colemans today getting a 12000K check on my k7 400 when a guy came over to admime it,
"This is just what I want" he said "but I have just been told they can only be obtained as a special import"

silly idea to scape the 400, i am a potental larger scoot rider (looking for a mid sized bike to comute on and they sem to tick all the boxs and i dont mind the image thing. . got a race bike so iv got nothing to prove on the road like half the stupid riders/wanabees) still theres a few that have been poping up for cheap ish on the 2nd hand market . .
