Well here goes again. This time, this bike i was lucky. (citing previous picked up a mint one thread here (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php/115803-REPSOL-CBR250RR-Just-picked-up-a-mint-one!))
Thursday last week i picked up a VERY V E R Y Tidy CBR250rr.
36,000km
Original fairings (ie, no weld marks or anything)
Orig tank (has identical paint scheme to the rest, no marks and the original sticker in Japanese)
Same with the windscreen.
Michelin Pilots f&r

Came with an immaculate service history with receipts for things like:
Headstock bearings, New Michelin pilots, Carb balancing, wheel bearings, comprehensive service, new clutch etc etc the list goes on.

Picked it up from Dunedin about 6pm. Rode to Oamaru and stayed the night.
Left Friday mid morning to ride back to chch.
Saw a lot of you buggers going to this rally thing in Waimate. Easily more than 100 bikers\trikers. Nice

Pics attached

Really loving the bike. It's a totally mad rev happy lunatic :shifty:

So happy to be back on a quick set of 2 wheels. Has mad me realize just how slow the madass was :P

Try and keep this one more pristine. These things could become more collectable in the future....

Yea; About that...

I really wanted to put the t8 style Tyga fairings on it and a wicked paintjob to boot.

We'll see. I had always thought it'd be worth more with updated looks. Not that it looks old as it's a timeless bike :) (i think)

If you do that, hold onto the original fairings. It'll be worth a lot more with the original fairings when you go to sell it (shows that it hasn't been crashed...)

That is very rare. To find a 20(ish) year old 250 without even weld marks.
I doubt it will be worth much more with aftermarket fairings (compared to what you'll spend on them).

Definitely keep the originals though and when it comes time to sell swap them and sell aftermarkets separetly.

Yea, i thought it was a rare find.
And i guess the fact of the matter is, that they could have been replaced. Who knows

All i know is that It's had 1 drop and the scuff marks on the fairings are light and a small crack around the left indicator.
Tank and windscreen have those original and rather faded Japanese safety first stickers or whatever.
No plastic welding anywhere to be seen (and yes, i checked thoroughly) and overall it is mint.

Really can't fault it and i don't blame forum members for being skeptics.

Nice bike. If you don't want to fuck up your helmet, put it on the ground - then it can't fall any further.

That's a bit like saying 'Give up motorcyclcing' - Aww hell no. Too much fun and it's a lifestyle far removed from sitting behind a windscreen looking out at the world, rather than being part of it.

My god has that bike actually been used? It looks way too mint.

Either you gave it one hell of a detailing or that bike has been loved like a child.
