7 Years Already...... RIP Bazza.

Here's one for the Pub Quiz.
Barry Sheene actually invented the back Protector.
He made it out of old Helmet Visors.
Sold the rights to Dainese.

A hole in his helmet so he could smoke on the start grid.

Barry racing at Donnington Park (I think) in April 1983 then Brands Hatch in the wet in May 1983 (where he was leading Kenny Roberts and Randy Mamola in the Trans-Atlantic Series). These were in my black & white film days :).

I don't condone smoking but found that little gem to be fuckin hilarious. "whats the hole for baz ? A vent" "na, smokes".

one of my heroes. Had the pleasure of watching him on the track and in the pits on many occasions.

All heros in their day which was well before Hi-Tech advancements took the skill out of racing.

The only thing I had a aginst Barry Sheen was that he had a prettier face than his girlfriend :)

Sad part, despite all the crashes, it was the smokes that killed him.

Took the skill outta racing? Haha, that's a good 'un! Casey Stoner on that MotoGP Ducati has consistently made every other Ducati rider look second rate and there have been a couple of World Champions amongst them. Yeah you're right, no skill there......
