Apologies if I got the plate wrong. (This occured at the Churton park on-ramp, heading South. If the real 50ZCN is in Takapuna or Dunedin - sorry. Hopefully you understand why I had trouble reading...)

I don't know if you just forgot, or if you're one of those "screw all the cars I'll do what I want" types, but geez your headlights stuck in my mirror were bright.

I had spots in my vision until Johnsonville and my eyes are still sore.

W.O.F. and road rules on light usage are there for a reason.

You may only be concerned for your safety, but your safety is no more important than other people. And if you are that concerned with safety maybe you could wear a high-viz vest instead? Or is it "cooler" to be a "rebel" and dazzle other road users?

Grrr!

(I turn 40 next week. But I'm not that big an old fart. I don't care that you lane split, I don't care at all what you do (speeding, whatever), as long as it doesn't affect me or other road users.)

I keep a good watch out, on the motorway, for all roads users. Not a single other motorcycle dazzled me at all.

Cue DangerousBastard and his very bright headlights... (We've had this thread before, started by that vifferdork dude...)

It's probably completely inadvertant. Ask him to dip. Point two fingers at your eyes and then downwards.

A simple request or reminder is all most people need.

Dont' overly care about the lights thing (although the dude is a dork) but respect for the sig yo.

Flavour Flav back when he was relevant and cool.

Venting.

Better than ramming him with my car!

And this is slightly more relevant than if I just bitched to my co-workers about it. Someone might read this, adjust their behaviour, and an angel will get its wings.

Point two fingers at your eyes and then downwards.

A bit complex at the time.

I did start with a friendly wave, blocking my mirror. But I just got angry and it turned into a single finger... (which, yes, wasn't a good thing to do).

When you come close to hitting someone with their lights on high beam, because you can't see anything else then you will get the reason why.

Two fingers spread "vee-sign" and pointed at your own eyes means "headlights" - either "not on" or "too bright".

Often anger like this is more about ourselves. It's convenient to hold someone else accountable for it, but maybe something upset you before you got on your bike.

Yes I ride with lights on fullbeam, except following other bikes (I never follow cars). I dip at night or (immediately) on request.

Projector headlamps look bright anyway.

Would not it be better to go and tell the person face to face rather than post a thread on a website that said person will more than likely never see?

I've never seen lights on a doorknob. Backing plates I have - Some sort of LED? Do they get hot?

We've got to talk about something while we are stuck in the office and staying off NSFW don't we?
