Could be keen. I'm on my full but still class myself as a beginner rider. I still have my 250R but will look to sell it soon. Currently got my missus learning on it. Chicks on bikes are hot :niceone:

ok you can google california superbike school and check it out, its 429$ to do it on a weekday, I'll email them about a day for next month or if you all want it will be 459$ for a sat or sunday.
Its at hampton downs racetrack which is on hampton downs rd which you can wisesmaps.co.nz to know how far away from you.
Not too far from auckland.
It will be an all day lesson. Part one theory in the classroom, part 2 practical on the track.
The reason to do it, is to build confidence and experience in cornering which can be used for the roads.
I reckon its got to be worth the experience, we could book it for spring towards end of year if you would prefer a chance to save the moolah. The only rule is if you dont have a full class 6 then you have to ride your own 250>. There are other rules about leathers etc, best you check the website. http://www.californiasuperbikeschool.co.nz/common.php?common_id=28

hows the bigger zx6R compared to the 250R?
Significantly bigger. SIGNIFICANTLY faster! Different geometry makes it different to ride but I'm getting used to it. Turn in is slower but that's to be expected from the wider tyres and larger bike. It makes me appreciate how nimble the 250R is. The riding position is more upright on the 250 but I'm not getting sore wrists like I was expecting.
Overall, ZX6R is awesome! :niceone:

You don't get to hold hands with your friends out on the track.

Hey y'all, funny thing is with the California Superbike School is that it doesn't matter what you are riding on the school days as it has nothing to do with speed so much it's all about handling your motorcycle whether it be a 250 or a 1340 Harley Davidson. We get lots of people riding 125s. I guarantee you will not be disappointed from what you learn at level 1. You get 5 sessions of classroom instruction followed by 5 sessions on the track to put into practice what you are taught in the classroom. I haven't seen one person yet finish the day without a huge smile on their face. You will learn how to control your motorcycle, learn why your bike does what it does and most importantly how to corner. Everyone no matter what you ride has to start at Level 1 as this is the foundation to build on to go on to do the next level. The $429 fee is nothing compared to how well you will be able to ride after completing even Level 1.

As GMGirl said, it's not about speed. You actually spend 3 or 4 out of 5 sessions going 'slow' and everyone is more or less going the same speed regardless of bike size. In fact being on a 250 you'll probably end up being quicker as you can keep your speed up in the corners. You'll learn heaps and there is very little chance that you will leave having not learnt anything, in fact it's almost guaranteed that you'll be a lot more confident, knowledgeable and more than likely faster by the end of the day.
It's even fun being a flag marshall and watching everyone improve throughout the day, you can see peoples smiles through their helmets in the last session.
