"Hells Angels are set to arrive in Nelson, to threats by a local gang to burn any pub they drink at and shoot them off their bikes.

Police will be out in force tomorrow as gang members arrive for a poker run, which marks the anniversary of the first public outing last year in Nelson of patched members of the Red Devils, a puppet gang of the Hells Angels.

That poker run saw more than 200 bikes, with 30-plus patched gang members, including four Red Devils, ride from the Turf Hotel in Stoke through Moutere, Riwaka, Tapawera and back. Today the Turf pulled out of Saturday's run.

The threat has come from Southern Skinheads president "Max" who told Newstalk ZB the Angels were not welcome in Nelson because they would bring P with them. "We will burn any pub they drink at, any motel they stay at and may take it to the extent we will probably try to shoot them off their motorbikes," he said."

I have no shrubbery, or tulips.

I have yukkas, which would probably hurt to ride through.

Can I have a go once you've softened the yukkas up please?

and p in nelson, it's been here for years and is slowly killing off the riff raff.

shame they not doing the poker run, i know friends of mine have done it a few times and love it. sad really that some out of town fellas have to come along a stuff it up for the rest.

Have to say; I haven't heard of the Southern Skinheads, not that I hang out in ALL the right places though. Funny that they have the initials SS, I doubt that was an accident. Still, brave thing for 'Max' to go public with threats of firebombings and shoot-em-ups. I haven't read anything that says the HAMC, the RD's or the LB have made such threats so for the media to give a previously unknown group any kudos and ink seems a bit strange. Mind you, the mass media is a bit strange if you ask me, always pouring petrol on fires. Self-righteous queer cunts generally.

I heard (secondhand) that the Red Devils will still be hosting a casual ride of some sort for the visitors. Provided it doesn't take the same route as anything the locals might use then I doubt anything untoward will take place. Let's not forget that both factions have stated publicly that they do not want confrontation. If that's the case, ride on.:calm:

I also wonder whether this has anything to do with a certain element seen muscling up in a certain gym this week. I did wonder why these lads were all of a sudden pumping up, dodgy boys to say the least and I do know of their affiliations. hmmmmmmm, could be an interesting weekend.

Awwwww, the rain has arrived, hope it pours down and they all slide off the side of the Whangs.

Of course it has been called off, it just started raining here half an hour ago, and there is scary thunder and lightning.

Never heard of the southern skinheads before, unless they were the ones on the tele a while ago who shoot people with their fingers. That'll make the angels quake in their boots.

We just arrived in Mana at the end of the Kapiti Thursday night ride tonight to see a long line of patched Hells Angels ride on past with a mufti car up the rear. Wonder if they missed their ferry?!

Genie
12th March 2010, 05:51
They''ll be spending the night up there and ferrying over today, want to make a grand entrance during daylight hours so they can intimidate the locals.

People are certainly talking around here since the newspaper article and the biggest question seems to be "Who the fuck are the Southern Skinheads?

Harleys are a cool bike, in their own way. just like Triumphs, Suzuki, Honda, Kawasaki, Ducatti, Moto Guzzi, Buell, Lifan (hehe), it's each to their own and one should respect the choices of others. God, imagine how boring we'd be if we all had the same bike!!!!!

Police out number the big bad scarey bikers.....looks like Nelsonians are safe with all the officers around. Though it might be a good time to do some burgs and run some red lights, the police are otherwise occupied.

they wouldn't be at all intimidating or threatening to the locals if they would only WAVE......

Interesting headline though using "bikies" as opposed to "gang members" . I'd almost forgotten that word as having bad connotations!

S'funny ya know.... saw quite a few of these Hardly riders yesterday in my travels round the top of the south, even got waved at by some :gob: damn near made me ride off the road, that did
BUT.... the ones I saw at the servo, with their ww2 helmets and sleevless vests wouldn't even acknowledge I was there. Could've been the bug covered codura gear, dust and the big chook chaser I was riding.

Genie
13th March 2010, 10:52
Nice to see you've been out riding and not just watching the bikes go by.

the guys at the servo, did you by any chance go up and say 'Hi mate, nice helmet" they not going to acknowledge some trail riding dusty boy. Like I dont' wave or acknowledge every other poor soul that drives a Nissan Serena, feel sorry for maybe, but they're not my friends.

Look you... I was trying to Harley bash a bit, and then you come in with the voice of sanity and reason, lay off will ya :D
There is more to it, but I don't care if they don't wave/ say hi, much the same as the ADV riders I saw at another servo didn't acknowledge my existence.
I couldn't give a shit, I was riding my bike :D

Man that is so sad, are you sure you on earth, like it sounds as though no-one acknowledges your exsistance.

Guess that would be pretty cool, you can do what you want, when you want, how you want.

I was very pleased to note you had got out on the bike, think you'd been neglecting it by working instead.

Harley bash all you want, I laughed today in the paper when they mentioned where the Angels were staying, now the SS know what hotel to burn down.

Saw many of said Angels and their friends ride past home today, some very nice bikes and I didnt' see any P

I think some of the local non Angel harley riders were out in force cruising the streets to gain a bit of cred today.

I see they went all the way to tapawera today. And back. respect

Southern Skinheads? Wot they all doing up Norf in Nelson? (I've heard a rumour there's a whole island North of Nelson but I've decided it's just that - a rumour) I might take my pushie up for a ride round Nelson next month. I may also need to take a P. Depends how much I drink tho :p

A thought, the police spent most of their time and our dollars watching the Hell Angels, all this after 'Max' publicly threatened to incite violence, commit arson , gbh and possibly murder. Are these still not arrestable crimes in NZ, why have they not sought this 'Max' outed him and taken him before the courts. Is it possibly because 'Max' does not exist and is just the media/police hype wagon stirring its usual magic.

Woodman
14th March 2010, 21:14
From what i can make outmax was a caller on a talkback programme. need I say anymore??

Genie
15th March 2010, 06:36
apparrently, according to the newspaper, Max was not to be found at the phone number the call was made from. Obviously the police traced the number but...then nothing. As to the police presence, lucky Hells Angels got their own police escort for their trip to Nelson, or police protection squad. I think the police outnumbered said big bad Hells Angels 2 to 1.
They gone now, there were no problems just some rather nice looking bikes in town. a lot of hype over nothing

Interesting feedback from someone who works at the interislander terminal cafe !

She couldn't understand why when 20 odd angels show up thurs, 60 police swoop on them tazers on hips, tear em down for whatever they can (4 bikes had to be recovered as the riders got stopped from riding for one offence or another) when they (the bikers) were polite, paid for the food they took from the servery, made small talk with her (chattin up i recon) even helped an old lady with her bags she said !

Where a week before 4 carloads of notorious mob showed up there waiting for the ferry, terrorised the public, took food from the servery and refused to pay for it !
Police were called and a car with two cops arrived, had a word with one member and left .... them to carry on terrorising the public and catch their ferry !

Does it really take a phone call threatening to kill, to get a responce team of cops out ?

Genie
15th March 2010, 10:00
MAYBE THE COPS ARE, oops caps lock, maybe the cops are on the payroll of the angels and it was a publicity stunt. Yes, you are correct threathen to kill anyone and you in big trouble. If you are the threathened one, you will have your own protection squad.

Fuck, that other situation, that is disgusting.

Aa reported in the weekend dom, five did not have the relevant class of license for the type of motorcycle, one in possession of dope, one arrested for $thousands of unpaid fines, many paid unpaid fines in cash on the spot, AOS used to protect the police, photograph showed court bailiff in attendance.

Genie
15th March 2010, 10:16
oh, so I'm guessing they were "L" plate riders......an aquaintence of mine who is in the local 'gang' just sat his learner licence as he had ridden for years without a licence. I got mine first and he thought, yeah if I can do it best he get legal. So many are out there riding with no licence.

Just another thought, maybe the police are on the payroll of the local gang which would expalin why the angels were kept on a very short leash.
