I need to match up the FMF pipe on my '04 KX500 with a preferably FMF Silencer and hopefully an approved model for Forest OK and spark arrestor etc compliance. My Bike is fairly fresh with only 35 hrs from new and , apart from a V-Force reed kit and a few upgrades is still running the original exhaust ( The big long thing ) ...still fast and top gear wheelies are only subject to traction availability ........of course, thanks , M

So you have an '04 KX500 with an FMF pipe (i presume you mean an expansion chamber) and want to find a matching FMF silencer? you would probably have to look at the fmf website to find a matching one (there may be one on trademe if you are lucky?) All i'd do is measure the outside diameter of the pipe at the point where you will be connecting the silencer so you make sure you get one that fits

First of all morg thats a four stroke silencer you posted "Designed to fit: KXF,CRF,YZF,EXEF,SXF,RMZ, XR, DRZ, KLX, WRF" Probably find a KX500 tail section is quite a bit different!!
Measuring the diameter and fitting a four stroke muffler will strangle the bloody thing, Bad advice me thinks!!!
Secondly Armitage your KX has only done 35 hours from new?? You need to get out and ride it more LOL!!!
Let Barty get you a price on the correct one or it will go like crap??

oh i know it was for a 4 stroke, but my point was to contact the person supplying them and see if they could also source one for a kx500

I bloody hope that road bike number plate is NOT registered to your home address Armitage so some scumbag can pay their $2.20 at the PO, find it, and come steal your bikes mate??
Maybe one day the fuckwits at LTNZ will change the system so it doesn't make it easy for the thieves and we don't have to break the law by puting false addresses in for our Road Bikes, utes and bike trailers that carry our MX bikes! Grrr!!!!
OH BTW the warrant expired a month ago on the GS1200 LOL!!!!

i used to run a Pro Circuit PIpe (mx version) and a standard muffler, Pro Circuit made 2 pipes, the mx version was the smooth baord powerband, and the off road pipe was the all out horsepower top end one for the desert racers,
i used to run the bikes a little bit rich so they were a bit more controllable, and also run a stealthy flywheel weight to smooth the power out,

yeah but they dont see it next to your un-tracable-when-stolen mx bike when your out on the road, once a dirt bike is stolen, thats it, its gone, never to be seen again in 99% of cases
