hi, Im touring the coromandel right now and have found myself caught out near tauranga having picked up a bloody z nail somewhere.

Ive done the emergency repair, but cant keep the pressure in the tyre as air is leaking out of the spoke heads, and from beneath the ring that holds the valve in position. (found this out with soapy water.)

is there a simple fix or is this a trip to the bikeshop for a new tyre first thing on monday morning??

Maybe it would help if you told us a bit about the type of tyre ,size, bike etc

Guessing its tubed, if so off to the bike shop mate !!

What type of repair did you try? If it's a tubed tyre (and spoked wheels almost always are) then a "dog turd" won't do nothing for you. You could TRY with a aerosol tyre repair thing from the nearest garage, something like that, but I don't fancy your chances.

Only way really, off with the tyre, and replace/patch the tube. Which could be a bugger on the side of the road.

Are you an AA member?

Edit to say: If the aerosol works, it's VERY temporary and you must get directly to a bike shop.

Tube has gotta come out and get a patch on it - not a hard thing to do with basic tools. Any little roadside garage could take care of that.

I'd be fucken careful riding on that.

yeah well, so after trying all the tubeless repair options, ive discovered the things tubed. think im sorted enough to get to the bike shop in the am. cheers for the help!! thank you

Don't ever use that crap unless you want to replace stuff, or are really in the shite. Anything you use it in will need to be replaced.
At least in your case it will just be a tube.
The stuff attacks the airtight inner liner in tubless tyres, and roots tubes too.
