Front forks are making strange noise, need help (Christchurch)

My bike is making strange noise at the front, not really sure what it is.
And I also notice that the front left fork is leaking oil. To fix it, what should I do?
Is there anyone in Christchurch who has a front paddock and knows about bikes?
It would be great if someone who can help me. I can ride to your place and you can take a look.

@bismarck, unfortunately Robert is right - it will be a big job to pull the forks off and send them away to be serviced. You can remove the forks if you feel comfortable doing it, but you need plenty of tools and stands to do it.

Ummm,
Not really.
Servicing your forks is something that is overlooked by many motorcycle owners.

What this particular bike has is a blown fork seal. Not really a big deal... Not too difficult to get the forks off if you have the correct tools... AND a Paddock stand that DOES NOT suspend the bike by the forks. Most do.

What does become a big deal is when all the fluid runs leaks out all over the place, and your suspension no longer works like it should!

Also, water can actually replace the oil that is supposed to be in there. Water is useless as a dampening fluid, as it tends to promote corrosion.

In saying all that; If you have to ask, it is too complicated for one to attempt by ones self.

Now, my advise is take the bike to a bike shop you like, leave it with them, get it all fixed and pay the bill.
Ride away, and that is the end of it for a while.

Hello guys.

Thanks for the advises. I haven't got the proper tools to do it. I will bring the bike to the shop, and get them to fix it for me.
Hopefully I can be there and watch.

great bike the 9r but they do blow seals abit from memory of my ones.
