Does anyone know what the regulations are for displaying the rego and warrent ??
Do they have to be at the back of the m/c or can they be anywhere provided they're visable.
Cheers,

Anywhere provided they're visible. Mine have been in my jacket pocket the past few months since I removed the rear mudguard. Got pulled over by the cops checking R&W on the HW1 overbridge coming out of Silverdale. Told them it had broke off and they were fine with it. :)

Good question, I have mine in the cubby hole in the side fairing on the RF, which isn't strictly legal. It keeps clean in there, stuck on the No. plate it got covered in crap which is illegal too.
So who knows?

Mine is securely under the rear seat where it will stay until further notice. Can't be arsed ruining the bike by lobbing these beaucratic pieces of shit on it. It is warranted and registered - they can be happy with that.

Always had mine stuck under the seat- never had any greif. My answer was that it stops them getting ruined by the weather and the cops were always fine with it.

I have rego inside top fairing behind gauges and the WOF stuck to the underside of the seat.
Cops are pretty happy when taking details from where they are.

:) got stopped Monday birkenhead.
my rego is fitted to the chain guard and warrent on the fairing under the bars.
the cop said he stopped me cause it was not on the plate but said its OK where it was so this is it if they can see it and its current they may not stop you. but if its not current they will stop you so its up to you really but I hate all that garbage on my back so dont mind being stopped occasionally for a chat.

so long as its somhow visiable without having to unbolt anything etc, cop can put head around odd angles and read it... However.. with mine i have a flick out rego holder which is mounted on one of the number plate bolts...the rego faces the number plate back so the mud gets flicked onto the backside of the rego holder.. when cop pulls me over i flick it out and it shows the Rego..i used to have this on both WOF+REGO of all bikes, but with my big plate i can fit my WOF beside the numbers (big square style plate) in the big gap so it looks fine... i just hate having the WOF+REGO mounted outside the number plate area as it makes the bike look messy from behind.

The law says they have to be visable - and these days mine are,but always used to carry them on me.My excuse was theft - easy to get a WoF and rego for your bike from a parked one...the cops were always OK with that. These days I don't leave my bikes parked all day unattended.

I don't know where they are on the cop ST's, but in the old days we had them inside the top box lid.

yeah lou? how far back are the old days? just outta curiosity... ST's have them displayed, rego just under number plate and i think warrent around there too somewhere.. thought the K1100's had that and R80's possibly too? but any old days further back then that are prolly damn near when i was just born! :p

I've attached mine to the brake fluid container for the rear brake. It's quite well concealed but easy to point out to the coppers.
I put it there to clean up the back of the bike also. - Gotta have those clean lines around the rear tyre eh??!!?
What?

My rego stickers are on the plates. WoF's live in my wallet. All the cops I have encountered have had no problem with this - in fact, only one ever queried it, and he seemed to like my explanation that this way he could read what it said, even if it wasn't strictly legal.

well now to be honest, i lost my face plate for my rego so took the rego label out and have left on computer desk ever since, so the other day when i went thru a checkpoint they saw the WOF and i flicked out the Rego holder and explained it must of either fallen out or been stolen, 3 cops were checking it out (because i sat on bike and they were searching for the rego @ first till i rememberd why they cudnt find it and that i had to flick it out for them) and in the end they just asked "oh but it does have a rego doesnt it?" and i said yes, they said great, well have a nice day and take it easy on that machine.
sweet as :) they were great.

having under a seat or sidecover cause probs if going to sit either restricted or full licence tests - Both must be visable to test officer or they will make you book and pay again. They dont have time for you to unbolt or take off items so they can see WOF
A trap for he unwary. - The offence is "failing to display" and while most cas are ok with under seat or in glovebox - there is always an arse hole out there who will make a production out of the smallest thing.

Can't City Council parking wardens give you tickets for No Rego & No warrant too???

It's pretty stupid. I got pulled over twice because the rego holder on the number plate had moved and just cut the top off one side of the plate.
I asked him did he often pull over people because they had warrant and rego, he didn't take it to well.
Basically as long as you can show them it's alright. But I don't think they know, this is a banana republic after all.

The old days were '77 to '84, kwakakid. We had CB750's, CB650's and GSX750's. They all had a top box mounted on the RT behind the seat.

The XJ's came out the year I left. You have know idea what a buzz the CB750 was when it arrived. 4, count em, 4 cylinders, a disc brake and 4 cans!:gob:

My rego sits in a rego holder bolted to the number plate, which, I was informed at my last WOF, obscures the back reflector (never even noticed).
The WOF is in the empty corner of my numberplate, with a clear plastic thing stuck over it, but still within days of getting it all the writing had been washed off by the rain.
I will look for new places for both soon.

Interestingly after starting this topic I got stopped today at a checkpoint looking for rego & WoF's.
I still hadn't decided where to put them so they were living in my wallet. Fished them out of my wallet to show them and no problems what so ever.
They seemed to be interested in work vans, although they pulled over as many as they could.
