Love the Tui advert on the NW...

Not really.
BT is a dangerous man and he's not stupid, making him doubly dangerous. (Europe in the mid 1930's anyone?)
If you look at his world with your head tilted sideways it might be possible for all of us to make a claim over some legal point or other. I'm a bit dispossessed, which I guess means I don't need an exorcist but I wouldn't mind a few mil to stave off a spot of paganism.

Maybe he wants a few new bikes? Who could blame him?

I am so tired of the bullshit, so are my kids, my workmates, my missus and everyone I know. Surely we are not a minority group?

No, but if you actually stood up for your self (s), then you would face social ostrasisation from your peers (because you are "rocking the boat"), and be dismissed as a "conspiracy theorist"/"communist", or what ever.

Your fears doom you to a life of control and manipulation.

You laugh "hahahah, desity church followers are suckers"

But it is the same as any government in any country.

Church, Government, it's all the same.

I am not supprised.
Full offence to all who support the treaty negotiation - but its a crock of shit, and the people running are scammers.
Good on Destiny for showing NZ that scamming over here is completely legal.
I await Destiny to start their own "learning scheme" , their own "Immigration Agency" and their own "Emmisions trading firm"

they have their own political wing, city councilors, legal team(s), blah blah, they are a big business now.
I suspect very strongly they also have a hidden militant wing.
it proves there is no god coz he would have smite king brian by now.
king brians next move is to declare himself the second coming.

Destiny church tithe to the church and we all tithe more to an even more dangerous group of lunatics...... F'N income tax. Was hoping we could envoke the consumer guarantees act on it but looks like we can't.

Love him or hate him, there are no laws against Brian Tamaki's bad doctrine. As long as there are weak willed and gullible people around who think that they can buy their way to heaven, then people like him will flourish. His followers are devout and publicly ridiculing Mr Tamaki will make no difference to the way they view him. Indeed they will find strength in scripture on this matter.

Mr Tamaki will only suffer when found to be in breach of New Zealand's laws. He is rich enough and possibly smart enough to avoid that possibility.

There are lawyers retiring already that have had full and fruitful careers in the Treaty business, a good career path for any aspiring graduates and set to continue into our great-grandchildrens futures.

Yes very true (we all have our own bleeding industries that graduates need to come up through).
However the "bar" in NZ should not be set that you should win a treaty case.

Big question is, has he landed any decent "fish' with his flash boat.

SS90

I could look at it from both sides

1) stupid people deserve to be ripped off, and, well, screw 'em.

2) Preying (pun pun) on poor gullible people is a sin, and he should be punished for it.

We have all heard stories about how Destiny church has ruined families financially, by insisting on tything, no matter what (their reward, of course, is in heaven.

I actually side on the latter rather than the former when it comes to "which side" I am on, but, what can be done?

If I was a relegious person, I would be extremely pissed off if I could not afford my rent, but my "pastor" had a fucking Harley etc to "play on"

The interesting thing with all this type of scam, is that when questioned about where there "personal wealth" come from, the answer is always "we have been blessed by god", and "the sale of our books"........ and also they get tax concessions for these books, because they are "spiritual literature".

He will get what is coming to him.

Ten years.

Max.

He will get what is coming to him.

I don't know that he will, he's a slippery customer and people like him (there are plenty in the world) insulate themselves well with their (and other people's) money. What you see of BT's worth would be the tip of the iceberg; trusts and off-shore dealings would likely hide much more. Yup, he'll retire in luxury one day and claim that he's done 'gods' work long enough and all his followers will be left hanging. BT is Density Church and it will fizzle out when he's gone but in the meantime he'll slip through any net and come out of any investigations squeaky clean. It's all a very clever scam that offers gullible, sometimes desperate people false hope.

Yeah, even in the background... from behind-like.

I like the inherent irony of your choice of words. Change punished with condemned and poor gullible with pious and it would have been perfect.

There are a few things on this planet that needs fixing as it is at the moment, number one is religion, number two is materialism...

I have a friend who used to be in the D church, she’s prone to seizures, one night at a rally, she was cheering and holding up a 20 that she couldn’t afford and had a semi black out, she does remember laying on the floor with the 20 still clenched in her hand, no prizes as to what got helped up off the floor first.

There but for sinners, there would be no religion.

They are symbiotically reliant upon each other.

There will always be sinners, so religion is inevitable!

Just as in motorcycling, there are things on the pathway of life that you should learn to avoid!

Careful what you think about though, what you fixate upon you are very likely to hit! :shit:

its amazing when you study the early birth of religion (which still goes on today with new sects starting every 5 mins), that you come to realise that in the bc times and early a.d's just how much the new phenomonon of religion turned the world on its head. Its like the idea of an omnipotent being was the spark that started the bush fire, that burned the entire world, for thousands of years. I can't wait for next phenomonon to hit us, my money is on marbles, or some form of trading cards.
