doc, MV?
if you ask they'll send you all the factory.... it failed. again... :D :D :D
MV makes BY FAR the most beautiful bike in the world, the F4, but now Tamburini retired and the effect is right in front of us: the my2010 is worst than the original, from a design point of view... :niceone:

ya... this is actually a strange place: so excellent on some sides, so desolating on others... for petrolheads and mech enthusiasts modena is pretty cool: ferrari, maserati, lamborghini, bugatti, pagani, de tomaso and also ducati and moto morini (in near bologna) are all within 30 km of range.

italian are so similar to the proverbial donkey...

so if you want, come here quickly, 'cos there are a lot of people longing for this country to explode and burn in hell flames (i know: we are two of them)
and it WILL happen, sooner or later.
come here quickly before, or you'll be welcome to go back here with me after, to pour salt on the ashes...

Ciao, welcome to Kiwibiker,

Planning on coming down under - that will be very different from Italy :)

Why are people wishing that? :stunned:

'cause there's no worst thing than a stupid happy to be.

italy has 60 millions problems, one for every italian that lives here. they are sit on a mountain of money, and they care only about their mobile and the last tv show.
i'm sure we'd have ideas and capacity to make this a better world, but nobody cares: here everybody have lost the sense of what is right and what is wrong, and when the ones that make the wrong thing are the most there is no better solution than say "fuck you all"...
remember? "if i'd found 50 right people..." i'm afraid there are less than 50...

i'm angry with this country... when you are cheated by someone you can call the police, but when you're cheated by your country, who'll you call? we've been here for 30 years, and understood that we don't want our children to grow up in this place...
:(

i've lived in california for a while, ten years ago: i thought that livin' in italy was better. now they've make this place worst, so...
the only thing i'm going to miss is my pasta brand... ;)

Hi Federico,
Welcome to KB. An odd place, but guaranteed to make you laugh at times.
You say your country has problems, you need to escape to a "better" place. NZ also has its own problems, albeit in a smaller way then yours. And while our smallness does make our country appear friendly and welcoming, it also makes us a bit narrow minded at times. We suffer all the same problems and same crimes you suffer, the sense of right and wrong is fading rapidly. The days of caring for your neighbor and fellow mankind are moving behind us. The days where people lived by the values of honesty, integrity, compassion are leaving us The cities are full of the same crimes - murder, burglary, fraud, the same sense of greed, of wanting it all and getting it for nothing. But - this applies the whole world over, not just Italy, not just NZ.
NZ is still like a small village - thats one of the things i love about it so much. And i am lucky enough to live in a small village, where people here do still care. So i am doubly lucky.
So if you come here, you will find much to love and embrace, but please dont think it is going to be the perfect paradise.

Urano

Hi Almost :D (Quasi in italian means "almost" ;) ;) )
thanks for your welcome and your plain words...
i'm afraid you've misunderstood me: i'm not a wanted and i don't owe money to anyone, so it's not an escape... we're sad and tired, but we've lived in this world enough to understand that the only paradise is a living room with the right persons.
but when you wreck a bike you have to choose if it worth to put it back right or to throw it completely away and buy a new one :D
so it's a choice, not a run.

actually nz is not the first choice too, 'cause considering my job usa would be far better. moreover you have pretty small centers even compared to a "provincial" (i dunno if it's the right word....) country like italy: modena is a medium small city and has 190.000 people. bologna, a medium city, is twice, milan has 1 million and rome 4. this thrills me a bit: sure you know there are pros and cons in living with 1500 people only: it was about the population of my high school... on the other hand i don't like the "born buy and die" american way of living... canada could be a good solution but Giulia, my wife, suffer a lot for cold weather and she'd hate me, i know...
Spain was our first serious tought and still keeps a great feeling on us: great people, honest, great country, and if someday i'd be forced to put aside once for ever my dreams about my job, there would be, probably, the place where you'll find us...
but you know, at the end, all considered, there few better places for us on charts than nz
sure, oceania is the only continent i've never been (yes... true... i've never been to antarctica as well... :D ) so there's a lot to learn about: that why i really ask your help to understand if it'll be the right choice, and i really need true words like yours...
many thanks.
;)

Hi and welcome! As Quasi says, people are people, are people. However, I have many friends who have come here from overseas and insist NZ is the best place in the world to be.

Yes we do have crime and the country is not the open, naive place it was 30 years ago, but still compared to the rest of the world, it's clean, green and safe.

People from other countries cannot believe that the politicians and police can end up in court for breaking the law. Traffic police can get traffic fines and politicians are held accountable for their expenses, etc. Banks are responsible investors and have avoided the controversies and liquidations around the world. Investment companies, on the other hand have gone bust at a great rate of knots!

Business people cannot believe how easy it is to establish and conduct business here!

If you are concerned about food, this is the place to get food from anywhere in the world, esp. in Auckland! There are specialty restaurants and grocery stores catering to just about anyone's tastes.

Take all the usual precautions, come and see the country and you'll be sold on NZ!

What job do you do?

Quasi

Ciao Urano,

There are still some Kiwis who will speak and act with honesty:yes:.

NZ is a GREAT place:yes: for me its the best place. I would just hate for anyone to come here thinking they were entering paradise, only to become rapidly disilllisioned:shutup: Anyway - i can see that you have an open mind and good intentions and that is that matters really.

and you are right - Paradise is not a place, its the people who occupy the place you are in, the love and support of family and friends, and strangers. And for that paradise NZ does come out on top for me

A little Italian - No. ein bissen deutsch - Ja!

;) it was just a joke... italians would be concerned about the food EVERYWHERE else than in italy...
but we've never eaten italian outside italy, and we'll not planning to do... it seems you have great lambs and fishes and rice, water for the bread... it's more than enough... :niceone:

What job do you do?

you know... not always what you do is what you are.
so, the answer at your question is "i work in administration; i've worked in vodafone shop for some years, then with siemens medical division as commercial support; i've worked in an ice cream shop; i've done a lot of thing, but my resume would be completely interestless..."

instead the answer at your next question is "i'm an airline pilot. i've been trained and dumped by our flag company because of the way italy works."
obviously i'm not lookin' for a captain seat in air nz, but i'd like to fly, everything everyhow would be great, even if 'till now i've had not so encouragin response from your islands and that's the reason why going back to california where already know people and environment would be easier...
i hope to have better possibilities face to face... :(

Ciao Urano

LOL!!! I like your sense of humour!

Jobs are still a problem here for many, but my business is growing and my son-in-law is flat out and having to take on staff and put more vans on the road. Plumbing is fairly recession-proof, so if you're a plumber or an electrician...

If you do speak another language it can be helpful. My son-in-law came from Germany and speaks five languages and speaking German and understanding the German way has opened many doors for him.

I have found that if you get the right person in Immigration, they can be very helpful.

My wife hates the cold as well, so that is the main reason we live in the North. The South Island is Paradise and for those who don't mind more variation, (read colder), in the weather. South Islanders can't understand why anyone would want to live in Auckland, but I love it here. We are just north of the city at a three kilometer-long beach, a beautiful seaside town only 25min to downtown Auckland and the gateway to the North. Hundreds of beaches, bays and islands to explore. Boating is extensive and fishing a major recreational passtime. You name it is here! See the attachment.

Ah, it's not really that bad. Longest time to get to the office in the car is hour and a half for the normally off-peak 40min trip. But the scenery, the harbour the bush-lined streets, the stereo and air-conditioning make it relaxing as long as you keep your eye on those who cannot drive...

The bike, of course makes the trip in under an hour even with peak traffic. But the attachment really says it all... We live in Orewa and it's such a nice place I'll probably retire here.

guys, i know it's probably not the best section to ask that, but...
today a question came to my mind:
we've now passed to the dst... weeeeell, do you have dst?? i imagine you could have from october to march, maybe?

uh, another one: we were wondering what relations you have with aussies. well, how do you look at them? they're like friends, brothers, neighbors, strangers, pavlova stealers, or maybe like french for italians, something like "ya, good, but stay two steps away please"... :D

(as for beer, i'm for weiss even if the real "make a mess" beer is the pils: but obviously i would not offer you anything because we're all bikers and wise bikers as we are don't drink and drive. yea. it sounds right. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D )
