Deep thoughts upon looking at that photo.

Any chance of naming the KB'ers in the photo?
No matter where you are, you'll always be here.

Sure, if memory serves (usually doesn't) from Left to Right:
Velox, Flame, StoneChucker (thats me!), Skunk, Ms Slingshot, Not sure, Storm, Slingshot (I think - bending)
Back group, at the back left is Keeper (redish jacket). Very front of the back group is Et al (with the vertical zip line on the jacket). Not sure about the woman to his left, and the other's faces are obscured, sorry.

I may be wrong but the "not sure" (6th from left) I'm pretty sure is me.
Thanks SC & Pete. It nice to be able to put names to faces and faces to names.

Sorry Pete - I never got round to saying hi in the end. Were you the one who headed off from the petrol stn in Martinborough?
It was good to go to the site to pay respects and just to get a bit of a reality check too. It looked like such an innocent corner which is weird, but I guess if it's taken out 4 riders recently it must just be really unforgiving if you make a miskake.

No I followed Et-Al and a few others off (from the crash site) and ended up in Masterton via some nice back roads. A 23 y/o GS1100 with all the tupperware shouldn't really be trying to hack it with 996 Ducatis and so on, but the fast guys were gracious enough to wait for me at the intersections. Thanks.

Nice one Jim2 Thanks
Verlox you are right the corner does not look that bad. The two motorcyclists that were killed there a year or so ago though were not doing anything wrong. it was the tourist on the wrong side of the road. I personally don't think there is anything wrong with it.
I just can't believe that Sam had to meet one of the few cars we had seen all day while reading that particular corner wrong, he had ridden so well all day.
