its not for air freshn or odor or any thing like that.
im making somthing cool but it wont work with out it.

I got mates that are still there so its not to much of a problem. But i will thank you for the offer as we both know having a trusted person in the uk helps alot. i always get ripped on shiping:(
i have found a 240v kit from a supplier in the uk for 12 quid. but i am kind of looking for the one in the pic or simmilar. but this is a DIY progect so i will look in to doing everything from scratch if i have to. kit has a list of components and tells you the type of circut they are using but stops at showing you the diagram. so i am guessing if any one knows how to build a Cockroft-Walton multiplier circuit then let me know.

Dick smith sells shitty, overpriced and under-quality products for the gullible consumer.
$1 bin RCA cables a meter long, that will probably turn to ash at the slightest shade of UV light? $20.
You wanna buy a USB flash drive? 4GB? $30. I can get one for $15.
A 42" plasma T.v? Yeah sure cuz, only $700. (Resolution only 600x190~)

The air purifier you find in the rear parcel tray of jap import cars are actually neg ion generators. Just find one at the local junk yard and tell him you need it for school kids' project.

Build a Cockroft Walton Multiplier and run it off 240 voltsPlease run it through a transformer first, so as to limit it's current, or else you have a horiffically dangerous weapon on your hands.

The input capacitors are only tiny, this will tend to limit current at the output end to safe levels. But its still a horribly lethal device to build in your bedroom, as contact with the mains is often-as-not a one-way trip.

Have a look at http://kitsrus.com/projects/k57.pdf if you want to build one.

Reverse the power feedback loop through a standard nano-capacitor and relay through the output inhibitor.

Nothing too it. Nothing at all. That'll be all folks, move along.

so what are you building ??

yeah the thing on the back of the prcell tray in primeras. will go to pickapart tomorrow and see wht i can find.

that curcit that sounds like it would be full on to make. i dont like playing with 240 vault. i would rather try and find somthing 12 vilt then i can just run it off a nokia charger as well.
i found a dick smith type kit in the uk it lists a full list of components and tells you its that circut are talking, but stops short on the diagram and cauce its 240vault im not to keen to try and work it out for my self my self.

im trying to bulid a home powder coater. for little things like rearsets and levers, brackets, rad covers, ect i been looking in to it. the ion generator in the ony part i cant figure out.
its only in its begginnings but im just playing.

i like to try and make things my self if i can figure it out if it works great if not then i had a play and had fun. its a good feeling to know you did as much of the rebuld as possable.

it seams to be real popular in the states at the moment. they can get them real cheap. and seem to get some good results out og a old kitchen oven and a a simple gun. only seen one DIY home made gun on the net and he looked like a rough cnut. made his one out of brass fittings and a jar. mine will prob be just as bad to start but am just happy to have a play.

An anion generator? What are the anions exactly supposed to do in regards to powder coating?

Pretty cool if you can get your own home-built setup to work!

its used to charge the powder particles as you apply it so it atracts to the surface and sticks to the steal. its how it done.

is that robin williams ??????

haha

well i went to pick a part today and managed to find a primera with a air cleaner thingy on the parcel tray. they wanted 20 bucks for it. so i took it back to the car and riped shit out of it and removed the ion generator out of it. when asked what it was i told them and she had to ring the boss. told him it was a negitive emiting synthisiser. it stumped them with the truth so she sold it to me as a swtich for 6 bucks.

now i need to figure out what part is what and try to get it going. then mount it on the gun. thats the next stage befor any thing, make the gun and find where to buy some powder!!!

will keep you posted

No need to.The design limits the current to very low levels -mainly dependent on the size of the caps.
This circuit is what is inside most neg ion generators.

Super Cheap Auto have a sand blast gun that will deliver powder -$40

i not sure if that sand blast will work. the powder is only real light and only needs about 10-15 psi to work. its wafted on almost a continious buff. its not sprayed its very low preassure. im thinking that it will be best to make it with a big barrell adn made of plastic. im thinking if its made of metal i will have to earth my self as well.

im going to use a plastic pipe, a plastic handled airgun, and a mid sized plastic jar. then figure out how it al goes togeather from there.
am real busy with uni at the moment so it may be a while till i get it all togeather.
